Ely Cathedral is a magnificent building that can be seen from miles around. It's a beautiful work of art and very photogenic. Walking around the perimeter is an enjoyable experience too. Well worth a visit!

Entry fee and extra for guided tour but well worth it. At the moment there is a brilliant sculpture exhibition (free). The lantern tower is amazing.

Coming up from the river and seeing the cathedral and the meadows with animals and the gorgeous trees is stunning. There is so much to see inside, better plan a couple of hours for your visit. Make sure to take the tour.

Ely cathedral absolutely blew me away. From outside you can appreciate the age and intricacy of this building, which dwarfs anything else, and is a focus for miles and miles around. But from inside it is even better. You can have a quiet moment of...More

Not too far, about ten or fifteen minutes, along the river, then through the gardens and park, and along The Gallery to the West door.
