This street is named after Sir George Downing who left part of his estate to Cambridge University at the beginning of the 18th century. I walked down the street starting from the St Andrew's Street end. On the corner of St Andrew's Street/Downing Street there...More

Not really an amazing 'sight to see'. I recommend you visit the museums off Downing Street, but really that's it. It gets very trafficked up at the weekends!

Central location next to the Grand Arcade shopping centre with a one way system for cars and 2 way for bikes to add to the confusion. Some nice museums and old buildings but so has the rest of Cambridge.

yet another example of an annoying one way system in Cambridge, if you miss the car park entrance it'll take c1hr to 'go round again'

Kind of oldy worldy when walking up the street, lots of little shops leading to the big hotel at the top of the road. Can be a busy road so sometimes you feel close to the cars as the road is only one way.
