We came shortly before closing time and didn’t have to pay the usual fee. We quickly scooped out the inside of this rare round church. Not much to see besides the very informative history boards. Worth a sneaky visit.More

Glad you enjoyed your snoop, janaziellinski! I note that you are local anyway, meaning that you have free access at the Round Church. During opening hours we also show 'Saints and Scholars', a film that compresses Cambridge's expansive history into twenty minutes - you'd be...More

One of only four round churches in the UK. No longer used as a church, but a museum. Quite small but interesting.

Although this very old building started life as a Church, it is now really an historical monument. Situated near to St. John's College, it has good historical displays inside , but is rather expensive at £3.50 each, as the inside is very small.More

Thank you for the visit, Fleckney! Just to say, the Round Church still has a congregation, although now they meet elsewhere (St. Andrew the Great). We hope that rather than just being a historical monument, the Round Church is a place where Cambridge's deep Christian...More

At first sight, I would not think that was the Church! How peculiar its shape is. The church of the Holy Sepulchre is one of only four round churches in England. It resembles a hobbit's house, so cute!! But when you enter it, you see...More

Thank you for your visit and comments, KseniaLoveUBritain! Appreciate the Hobbit reference, although we would struggle to get permission to have a little green door! We do agree though that it is not only cute, but an incredibly unique part of Cambridge's heritage.

We met Ian at The Round. He took us back in history/ time. We were immediately swept away by his knowledge. We had a small group, and we assumed that the tour would be a total dud. NOT THE CASE. 2+ hrs. You had better...More

The Round Church offered quite interesting history of the role that religion and religious scholars in Cambridge played that formed the basis of religious tenets and works such as the Book of Common Prayer and the King James version of the Bible. The video was...More

A nice place to visit, it is very old. £3.50 entrance fee for which you can read a lot of information boards and watch a film that explains how the colleges came to be. The film largely replicates the information on the boards. Quite specialist...More

As well as visiting this 'different', round church with equally amazing history, the presentation about Cambridge and its history was well done.

The Round Church is just amazing. The church itself is full of history, but the video presentation on the history of Cambridge will set you up for your visit. It's a wonderful way to learn about the city. It's also extremely beautiful. Regardless of when...More

This is a small historic church with a good history placing it in its context of the city. A realistic entry price too.
