I was part of an art history group and we stayed for a night at Clare College. The room was very comfortable, clean and well placed for a walk up to the town. There was a good if basic breakfast.

Clare college was founded in 1326 and has some eye pleasing architecture about It and backs on to the River Cam. The college has its own bridge that crosses the river called Clare bridge.

Attended a concert in this lovely chapel which dates back to 1769. It is a calm and relatively unadorned building which allows for 'peaceful reflection for all of any faith or none'.

More intimate than Kings, Clare also has the wonderful flower gardens. It's sadly an overlooked gem in Cambridge.
