Brief visit on a savagely cold late February day, but it was a joy to walk round the quads and through to the bridge over the Cam and the gardens beyond. Lovely buildings and a beautifully understated chapel, with a stunning tower ceiling just inside...More

a great way to get into the old centre of Cambridge by walking through the grounds of Clare College from The Backs and walking over the river bridge with punts passing under coming out at the back of the Senate building.

Attended a concert in this lovely chapel which dates back to 1769. It is a calm and relatively unadorned building which allows for 'peaceful reflection for all of any faith or none'.

More intimate than Kings, Clare also has the wonderful flower gardens. It's sadly an overlooked gem in Cambridge.

A little gem. Everyone goes to Kings. Try Clare. The chapel is delightful and hall imposing. Gardens are delightful and there can be little better view of the punts drifting down the Cam than from Clare Bridge - a photo opp in itself. If you...More

A most helpful porter at the entrance took the time to explain the history of the College and the most interesting places to visit during the walk around.

Clare College is one of the oldest colleges in Cambridge. Clare doesn't have the grand space like King's or Trinity; it's a compact college but worthwhile of the time there.
