Been here twice now for a roast and both times it’s been fabulous!!! Once we were served straight away and the other time we had to wait a while. I would rather wait and had a perfectly cooked roast dinner than a microwaved number. I...More

Can honestly say this was the best Sunday roast I’ve ever eaten! A slab of slow cooked brisket, crispy and fluffy roast potatoes, veg with a bit of bite and think flavoursome gravy! Staff were also friendly and accommodating.... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 😍

We booked for Sunday lunch and arrived at 1.50pm. Food didn’t arrive until 3pm and it wasn’t even particularly busy. We were really excited about coming having read the reviews but service was poor. Food was good but we have had better Sunday lunches elsewhere....More

Atmospheric old pub inside with a garden area at the back. Lively when we visited on a Friday evening, but we still managed to find a table outside. Crowd mainly youngish (it’s near Bristol University). Good Thatcher’s cider on tap.

Fabulous roast on Sunday. Beef and lamb just fell apart. Extra crispy roast potatoes, tasty cauliflower cheese, lashings of gravy, mixed veg - highly recommended

WOW. Without a doubt, one of the best Sunday roasts available in Bristol. Huge portions of perfectly cooked veg, and as for the meat, it is the best I've had. The lamb literally melts in the mouth. Combined with the fantastic friendly staff in this...More

What a friendly and attractive venue - after a days walking in the Cotswolds. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

This place is everything a local pub should be. Great ambiance, lovely outdoor space that’s actually warm during winter. The Sunday roasts are incredible, generous portion sizes, we couldn’t even manage dinner.

This is a wonderful neighborhood pub. Good selection of craft and local beers and ciders, the mark of a credible establishment. Funky old tables, chairs and the like. We shared a table with about ten chemistry students and bad a blast. Good pub snacks, but...More
