Terrible!! Whatever happened to the days of being able to actually walk around the lake? Now it's all private owned land that's gated with no access. If you're thinking of going for a nice walk around chew valley lake ..... Don't bother!! Money hungry people...More

Travelled from south Somerset, via West Harptree. Would be helpful to have a brown signpost at West Harptree, advising drivers to turn right. We'd visited this perhaps 10 years ago, and so nice to see the new children's play area plus the new Salt &...More

We took a family trip to tick off the Gromit located at Chew Lakes. The cafe/restaurant was very busy and in the sunshine, there was plenty of space to enjoy a picnic. We attempted to follow one of the trails around the lake, but it...More

Visited Chew Valley Lake whilst holidaying in Wookey Hole. First the good bits - car parking is good, being clean, tidy and well laid out to take in the views. Picnic bays provide some privacy and protection from the wind. Bugbears? Main one is signage....More

We were here on a lovely sunny day in April and the view was stunning. This attraction now has a children's play area which keeps them entertained and a very good cafe restaurant serving excellent food

Sorry no you can only walk your dogs from the car park outside the cafe to the 2nd car park then it's a small bridge ove a stream which is the limit for dogs. Humans can walk further but could not as we had a dog.
