This is an absolutely beautiful beach, the water can be a little rough at times but that adds to the appeal

Everybody will go to Piha to watch the big waves and some surfers trying to stay on top of their board. Nice walk along the beach.

You do not see a black sandy beach every day. It really is a gorgeous place to go to. The roads there ain’t the best, but it’s worth a drive. There are toilets and cafes around the area.

We drove here on a small country road. Lovely big beach, sheltered from the wind, on a nice day it would be fantastic.
