Love the beach. Good for surf and to play with kids near the creeks. Also a nice playground next to the campground.
Be careful during summer when the black sand gets really hot and people get trapped in between the dunes.

Piha is where our New Zealand life-saving Champions training is at its peak. The surf is very rough and I would not recommend for amateurs to swim safely here. Great Beach walks and great day out! Scenery beautiful!
