Best winery and dinner
May 2013 • Couples
We spent 2 nights with Manuela and Peppe. The wine tour was very interesting, and the accomodations and breakfast were perfect. But the most exciting and unexpected was the dinner out on the patio with wine parings from their fantastic vineyard. The food was regional, fresh, and exquisitely prepared.

a relaxing weekend
Apr 2012 • Couples
This is an ideal place if you want to leave the city and forget the stress and the daily routine. Located in the quiet village of Castel Campagnano, renowned for the Pallagrello grape variety, Terre del Principe gives you the opportunity to have a wonderful relaxing time. Quiet rooms, where the only sounds you can hear are the sounds of the nature. The rooms are deliciously furnished with an amazing view on the valley. There is also a beautiful terrace from where you can enjoy the sunset, drinking a glass of good wine. Peppe and Manuela, the lovely owners of the place, are incredibly nice and attentive to every guests' needs. For breakfast you can try the delicious homemade fruit jams (I particularly liked the lemon jam!), bread baked in wood oven and fresh fruit. Great price-quality correlation.

Absolutely Fantastic !

How lucky we were to find this faboulous wine and bed through Trip Advisor. The house and surroundings are beautiful, the vineyard wonderful. The chance to see the grapes, live the beauty of it all, from operations and cellar of this award winning winery an unexpected treat. But it is Manuela who made this experience as memorable that it was. We followed other recommendations and took the meal option. What a feast, an incredible meal complemented with her delicious home grown ingredients, complete with the wine and explanation of the choice that is made. The food was amongst the best we had ever had, a gorgeous 4 course delight. All served on a lovely outdoor setting, with warmth and joy by Manuela and Pepe. And believe me, the breakfast the morning after with her extraordinary jams and jellies are alone worth the trip. If we are back in the area, we will definitely stop again, and take a cooking course!. Thank you Manuela for all your kindness.

You can't even imagine a place this Amazing, Beautiful, or Delicious
Manualla and Peppe are absolute artists, they took me and my family on an tour of there winery, during which Manualla carefully explained the different grape varietals, how they grow and where they came from. (they only ancient grapes that are rarely used anymore). She explained how everything in there vineyard is done by hand from the trimming of the vines to the picking of the grapes. She also talked to us about how there micro climate is perfectly suited to the ancient grapes they use and how it affects the wine flavor. After our vineyard tour Peppe took us over to a local DOP Buffalo mozzarella maker were watched real hand crafted mozzarella being made and got to taste several different kinds of there cheese. After the cheese tasting we returned to the winery for a wine tasting. This wine tasting was very special because it was vertical tasting, so we were able taste each varietal separately comparing different years to one another. As a chef this was extremely interesting and you were really able to taste the differences in the wine. After the the wine tasting we had the most amazing meal i ate while in italy! two of the course were mind blowing, a pasta with soft cooked fava beans and pancetta and dish of braised lamb. (by the way there barrel aged grappa is also unbelievable) Anyways if you are anywhere near Campangina you have to visit Manualla and Peppe it is a real experience unlike any other wine tasting/tour i have ever been to. I cant wait to go back and spend more time with them.

Gracious Hosts, Fantastic Wine and Food
A must experience for wine lovers and people who wish to experience the Southern Italian cusine. Tour the vineyards, 700 year old cellar and enjoy wine (from the ancient varitals - pallagrello nero and cassavecchia) and food (from local producers) at the estate. Hosts are most accommodating. My wife and two college age sons had a most memorable visit.

A passion for wines and a life of passions
Visiting wineries in the Campania region, in Italy, we have found a very special one: Terre del Principe, Prince's Land, located in the small town of Castel Campagnano, in the province of Caserta. The winery was started by the love and passion of Pepe Mancini in a quest of old memories of his grandfather and the old grapes natives of the region, Pallagrello and Casavecchia. The same love and passion pushed Manuela Piancastelli, journalist and writer, to an encouter with Pepe and a new life together. Pepe and Manuela received me and my group at the door of the state, in a cold morning of october, with such a warm friendship that made us forget about the temperature. After visiting the vineyards and the winery, we recieved a lecture about the rediscovered species Pallagrello Bianco, Pallagrello Rosso, Casavecchia and the effort they did to have these species back to the Italian Vines Catalog. Of course we were anxious to taste the wines and the tasting was conducted with an excelent four courses meal, displaying not only the wine individual characteristics but also the food matching characteristics. It was an wonderfull experience with wines, food and passion for life.
