Loreley herself may only be a statue, but she keeps attracting attention and tourists... the story of the siren, attracting sailors towards the treacherous cliffs of Loreley is a wonderful excuse for crashing your barge. It may come in handy, so do your homework...

There are wonderful views all along the Rhine - this just happens to be one of the more famous places (=a bit more crowded). You can watch a statue of Loreley at the river, on the hill, try the sommerrodelbahn and take a nice walk...More

The Lorelei is a 132 meter high rock along the right bank of the Rhine near the Sankt Goarshausen. The Rhine makes a sharp turn here, which creates a strong current; many ships have been lost here over time. That's about it, the rest is...More

Loreley (spelled correctly and pronounced, “Lor-eh-lie”) rock had incredible views from the top. If you want to see the mermaid statue. Get a map at the visitor center. The statue is located on a peninsula in the river.

Having toiled up the steep road to the Visitor Centre, we were deeply disappointed to find it a building site. The viewpoints were fenced off. We were told that we would get a good view from the Biergarten terrace, but it too was closed off....More

Loreley rock is located around Rhine kilometer 554. It can best be appreciated from Sankt Goar, just across the river. Visitors who insist on admiring the famous mermaid statue up close should cross to Sankt Goarshausen and park their car at the base of the...More

Take the walk. Burn the calories. Enjoy the view. Then go share a terrific bottle of wine at the Rheingold to celebrate life.

We were traveling past this famous point on a Rhine River cruise. It wasn't possible to view the sculpture from the river, but I suppose the flag at the top of the rocky point is its location. Fortunately, our captain was not distracted by this...More
