A very large rain storm system came through a day before we went for our hike at Pete's Dam. Normally there are two trail loops that you can enjoy, but today one was partially flooded and the river was spectacular.
Clearly marked trails are fairly gentle in contour, and there are many rock platforms that offer great photo and picnic opportunities with rapids and falls all about you.
There are some local and invasive plants that you don't want to play with in the area (poison ivy through giant hogweed) so stick to your trails and clearings.

Great place to walk the dog. Can be a little hilly at times and a bit slippery when it's been raining or snowy but still a nice easy hike with beautiful views. The one trail takes you around a loop with three different waterfalls and some nice cedar trees. The whole trail took me about an hour at a relatively slow pace. Just a few km off hwy 11

I first visited Pete's Dam in 2019 and wondered how it might have looked in the days of 'Pete".
It could be re-created but with the water flowing through a much more efficient turbine.
It could happen.
