St. John’s Catholic Church is architecturally beautiful outside and inside. Worth visiting when in Gananoque.

Walking tour
Jun 2019 • Couples
We set out to walk the waterfront trail but much of it was flooded. I had a walking tour map of Gananoque so we did that and visited 3 beautiful churches on the tour. They were all lovely in their own right. The architecture on this RC church is really eye catching and the mosaic roof wonderful. There is a church very similar that we passed in Brockville.

If you are RC do not leave Gananoque without visiting this beautiful Church. It is really an old world sanctuary. Blessed are those who avail of the opportunity to visit this Holy place.

Beautiful
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is a very impressive church. People can not walk by without stopping to take a picture. We live in Gananoque on Sydenham St. in what was the St. Johns Convent from 1923 for over 60 years. Walk by the church at night to see all the stained glass windows illuminated. Fantastic roof. A must see on a visit to Gananoque.

Magnificent church
Jul 2018 • Couples
This is a magnificent looking church both inside and out. The outside architecture is lovely with slate roof, limestone walls and some unusual features. Worth a drive by or visit inside.

a good church

A church is always a pillar of society. In there you learn the way to carry yourself;so does the law of the land .If all citizen were religious then the law won't have to be enforced of us.because there is a lack of church goers that's why there is so much laws Nice church in the neighborhood that is seeing a decline of brethren.

Welcomed by two angels
Jul 2017 • Couples
I had the luxury to enter this church. The mass was on its way. I was able to take one picture.

We were welcomed by two painted wooden angels. I was attracted by the altar, surrounded by stained-glass windows. The altar was attractive as well! Wow!

People sat on wooden benches.

The church from the outside was quite attractive as well! It was all made by stone.
Worthwhile to see!

We didn't go inside because it was closed, but we took many pictures of the beautiful building. Passersby said the inside was just as beautiful.

Beautiful Older Church
Feb 2017 • Couples
This is one of those older Eastern Ontario churches that takes your breath away. Beautiful inside and out and an anchor to the heritage of the town. Not to be missed

The interior of this church is amazing. The acoustics are great - we attended a concert there. Lots of room and peaceful.
