Wild-Eye photo safari was so wonderful that I am going back next year. The entire staff spoiled me completely the entire time I was there.

The attention to detail made this exciting trip into an amazing experience. All the staff were kind, friendly and knowlegable. The accomodation, food and location were superb. The limited numbers in both camp and the vehicles ensured a bespoke service. But what really made the holiday was our driver / spotter without whom we would not have known where to look or what we were looking at. Thank you Reuben.

The concept of a bush camp in the lower Mara triangle is perfect. With the camp right on the bank of the Mara river here is plenty of wildlife life in and around the river. The staff are wonderful and very hospitable. The food was excellent and the bush dinner next to the Mara river on our second evening was superb. The wildebeest had left three weeks before we arrived so the plains looked empty but we got some very special sightings of lion and leopard. I will be back in 2024 for another special six nights in Enkishui camp. Thank you to the Enkishui staff and Mike Appalsamy and Trevor MacCall-Peat looking after us so well and keeping us entertained around the dinner table.

Wild Eye delivered an outstanding safari experience at Machaba Camp in the Okavango Delta and the Pangolin Chobe Hotel in Chobe. Accommodations, staff and guides were excellent and far exceeded our expectations. It was wonderful to see the animals in the different settings between the two locations - one was land/jeep based and the other river/boat based. Wild Eye was great to work with and will book with them again.

Wild Eye is a company I trust to deliver a spectacular holiday with unforgettable experiences. The logistics team helped plan and made sure everything went smoothly. I misplaced my camera battery, and the team ensured I had one waiting for me upon the start of my safari in Madikwe. Gerry, my guide and photo expert, was awesome. His knowledge of the South African bush and photography expertise was great. He had a positive energy that was contagious; his passion for his profession was obvious and made my holiday unforgettable.

Our second trip to South Africa, with friends joining for the first time, was excellent. We had a few extra requests, and Wild Eye delivered! From wildlife viewing, photography lessons, lodging, and transfers, we were treated like royalties! Wild Eye takes the stress out of travel.

Once again, the team at Wild Eye knocked this out of the park! I booked this trip on impulse as I was departing for my 2022 trip to the Mara camp. I had a little buyer’s remorse at the time because of the cost, but DANG! It was worth it! As per usual, the team in the office kept on top of all details and made sure everything was in order before the trip. The communication was steady and all of my questions were promptly answered. When I arrived in Harare, I realized I brought the wrong charging adapter with me. I quickly messaged Randy to see if the camps in Mana Pools had any spares they could loan me. She got to work right away and contacted the necessary folks. Fortunately, York Lodge in Harare had one I could borrow for the duration of my trip. Seeing Mike again in Harare before we departed for the airport was fantastic - it was like reuniting with an old friend after many years (which it was!). We picked up right where we left off in 2018 on my first trip with him and Wild Eye in Kenya.
Once we met up with the rest of the group at the airport and arrived in Mana Pools, it was 11 days of nonstop excitement, tracking animals on foot, by vehicle, and working with other vehicles in the park to track the elusive wild dogs. While we never saw them, we were more than spoiled with the rest of our sightings. In fact, on our final night together, we had 4 of the big 5 join us at the Kanga pan for our final drink.
From the start of planning to the very end of the trip at the airport in Harare, this was an incredible experience. I’m so fortunate that our group was made up of the coolest individuals and we all got along so well! As Mike was walking me out of the airport to catch my ride back to Harare, I began to tear up thinking about all the incredible memories our group created with each other and how much we genuinely like each other.
Every year that I travel with Wild Eye, I end my trips by saying, “This is the greatest African adventure EVER!” Each trip gets better and better. I can’t thank Judy, Randy, and Mike enough for their thoughtfulness through the planning and execution of the trip.
I can’t wait to travel with Wild Eye again in 2024 and 2025 to the Mara camp in Kenya! Thank you to the best team in Africa!

The wildlife experiences were just completely amazing - we saw 3 river crossings as part of the great migration of zebra and wildebeests, we got on a first name basis with the impressive male leopards Shuja and Osedai as we found them alternately patrolling their territories and munching on their kills in trees, we followed a mating lion pair at different points over a couple of days as she lead him across the savannah (with performances every 20-45 minutes, male was looking a bit tired), we saw cheetah brothers on the hunt, herds of elephants with lots of babies crossing the plains, an insane amount of birdlife and just so much more it's impossible to record here. For many of these experiences we were on our own with no other vehicles around and this is really the Wild Eye difference - the team. In the camp Dickson, Mother Mary and the rest of the camp crew create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and their attention to detail and the client experience extends to the guide/driver team as well who really go above and beyond to maximize experiences for the guests. While of course the river crossings were attended by many others, the guides/drivers somehow managed for us to have so many experiences on our own - no mean feat in the Masai Mara in August! Highly recommend - but during the meals look out for the green chilies on the side!

If you plan to visit the Mara Triangle then Wild-Eye is the only way to go period. Best location with very comfortable and well supported tented camp which blends into the bush and is at one with the wildlife that is all around you. Absolute magic to go to sleep every night with the sounds of hippo just 10m away in the river, with each day bringing new experiences, and with great photographic, wildlife and birding guides to ensure you get the most out of it. Will be back!
