I have been to this boardwalk a few times over the past 3 years. The boardwalk itself has slowly been deteriorating, but instead of repairing it, the town seems to be content to simply close off the various affected sections.
Even though a number of areas were boarded off and the elevated platform no longer stands, it is still a very nice and enjoyable walk. There are a number of trails that connect all around this boardwalk, so you can explore as much or little as you want.
The main "advertised" entrance to the boardwalk system is not easily accessible for people with limited mobility. However, the trail system surrounding it weaves it's way by various residential areas that have a 'flat entrance' to the trails (as opposed to the small hill at the main entrance).
There is both shady, forested areas for when the sun is out and temperatures are hot and the open main boardwalk area. And yes, actual beavers can potentially be seen here if you are lucky.
This is a nice relaxing escape for anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Good walk just way to hot when we attempted to walk it! Would’ve been better if we weren’t in a heat wave. Other than that it was good. Probably try again next summer.

We only had time for a short walk but this is a nice quiet place for a stroll and maybe spotting a beaver or two.

Has the potential to be amazing, but many sections have fallen into disrepair and are closed off. It doesn't look like it would take much to fix it up, so it's even more sad the town hasn't made the effort.

After driving from Banff, we needed a place to stretch and chill. We saw beavers, muskrats, lots of water fowl and a great sunset. Highly recommend

Great place for a hike went as a family and all enjoyed it. If you go in the evening make sure to bring misquote spray.

This was billed as an accessible hike however there was no wheelchair parking, there is a steep slope to get to the boardwalk, and parts of the boardwalk had stairs. So a nice walk if you only have some mobility restrictions but if you can't do stairs it's not a good idea. Lots of bugs so put on some bug spray

Easy trail, you can also access a lot of other trails from this location. The map was a little difficult to read so you can easily get lost if you aren't paying attention. Some of the boardwalk was closed off as it was unsafe at the time, I believe they will be doing some maintenance soon. Unfortunately we were not able to see any beavers however we did see muscrats which were just as lovely and adorable. I would recommend this for a nice easy afternoon walk especially if you have kids. We were able to use our stroller for the entire walk. Do be careful if doing this however as the boardwalk is pretty narrow.

A nice walk but didn't see any beavers. Part of it was closed. Also no proper direction. No parking at this place, you have to park on the road.

Really nice place with lots of trails! Didn’t see any beavers but had fun looking at all the dams and we loved the gorgeous trails!
