This is a nice place, lots of walking and climbing through narrow passage to the upper temple. Many statues were destroyed. The reinstated ones are of poor workmanship. The hill beside is worth a climb.

The Mati Temple complex is set against beautiful scenery with rolling hills which were coloured with Autumn leaves at the time of our visit and the encircling mountains were capped with snow. The Grottoes themselves however were quite underwhelming. The original carvings are poorly preserved...More

This temple complex is carved into the side of the mountain. If you don't like cramped tight spaces, maybe just look from outside. We got stuck a few times waiting for crowds to pass as there is only room for one person at a time....More
