Spent about 2 impromptu hours visiting with Paul. The guy has some serious talent, but he won't admit it. I was at Etosha and his paintings of the park and its wildlife are spot on. He's approachable, interesting and has a cool brown dog. Go to Simon's Town, see the penguins then stop and see Paul.

Hey there! Thanks for your review..........and thanks for the kind (probably undeserved) words! It's always great to meet people from around the world who just 'drop in' especially the guys who have been to Etosha and understand what it's all about! Great to meet you and thanks again for the great chat! Next time you are in SA.......drop in again!

Made the trip to visit after seeing Paul's paintings somewhere and I was not disappointed. They are magnificent. Would have bought them all. But am very happy with my 'last rhino?' Paul is a wealth of knowledge and a joy to talk to. Make the time to go and put your memory of wildlife on your wall at home.

Thanks for your kind words! It was a pleasure to talk to you and I am enormously flattered that you took the time and trouble to take an Uber all the way from Cape Town just to visit me in my studio! Happy travels and pop in again when you are in the neighbourhood!

Paul Dixon does amazing wild life art and has a small studio in one of the side alleys in Simon's Town. His work is realistic and amazingly detailed - it's almost like looking at a photo. Paul himself is a very interesting man and when visiting his studio, he told us of his travels trough Africa to get inspiration for his work. We saw mostly oil paintings, but there were also some sketches. Absolutely amazing!

This guy has the best stories (and paintings obviously).... If you don't like art... F*#*# the art and talk to Paul! :)
He is a local in my town, and every evening at 5pm outside Monocle and Mermaid Paul and I have our daily rant about small town politics....
Oh! and the beard! oh the beard......

Wow - what amazing artwork and such an interesting artist! Learn about his adventures in the bush and meet the amazing creatures he saw while he was there which are depicted in his paintings! Paul is often accompanied by the ever darling Pooch, the brown dog... though I'd say she's a touch ginger.
Totally worth a visit - prices are totally reasonable and he'll make sure that the painting is packed properly. Stop in and meet Paul and Pooch during a walk through Simon's Town and check out his AMAZING artwork! A true artist!

Fantastic wildlife art by artist Paul Dixon. A unique take on the wild, paintings mostly come from after Paul 's visits to Etosha, Namibia.

Paul B. Dixon is a professional artist who has won lots of awards and his work is currently exhibiting in the USA. I love that he is really involved in wildlife conservation, and that he donates art every year towards conservation efforts. His work is superb.. he uses Namiba as a reference for most of his work, and his paintings of elephants remind me of David Sheperd's work, and dare I say it, it is as good as! Paul paints at the studio so you can catch him working on his latest project should you like to pop in. He's lovely to chat to, and is really knowledgeable. We have so far collected a painting of lions and one of a flamingo...we weren't able to buy one of his paintings on this trip but we have our hearts set on one of his zebras when we are down next. If you are looking to invest in some good quality art work, this artist is worth looking into.
