We were staying in the Llogora pass and spend a day in Orikum where we visited the archaeological parc of Orik, the beach and the Karabarun marine parc. The latter we heard /read could be reached by boat. Seeing the boat operators are not so well marked yet in Oirkum we just went into a small harbour A bit north of the main beach area amd asked if someone could bring us to the peninsula where the parc was located. The owner of the bar at the harbor pointed us to a guy working on a rubber speedboat and said he could take us for €100 13500lek. We took the risk and went onboard with our 3yo daughter. It turned out to be worth while, although we could have picked a day with a less rough see, or a bigger boat. We though the ride on the waves was cool bit our daughter was less entertained.
The ride was beautiful and the parc/penisula was a beautiful area with nice views and secluded beaches. We were dropped of at a beach restaurant with some small docks.
In the end I think we would have tried to get the price down. We ended up paying 12000 as we were only away for 2 hours (the captain waited for us) to come back from our short hike). We later read that there are tour operators in Oirkum that take groups to the parc for a lower price and probably in a bigger and more comfortable boat.
One can also walk following the beach road north, but you'll have to get by the guard at the marine base. We did that when we visited the ruins also in that area by asking inside the restaurant just in front of the base entrance (follow the sh95 until you reach the base entrance). In our case the guy who sold the entrance tickets was there and arranged for us to enter the military area.

Tour carried out by Regina Group boat. Absurd prices for the quality of the visit offered. 25€ per person to stop a few minutes in Sazan and arrive after an hour of unnecessary travel to Karaburun, where on top of that they asked us 10€ for a broken umbrella and deckchairs. To crown, a further final delay of one hour for the interlocking of the buoy with the anchor. The only positive note is the wonder of the places that Mother Nature has created.

Karaburun-Sazan National Marine Park it is a must!
My husband and I went with a private boat and we had an entire day to explore this amazing place.
The water is amazing, crystal clear and the beaches are not crowded.
We also entered in the Cave of Haxhi Ali with the boat.

We paid 60 euro for a boat trip to Haxhi Ali cave and Dhimkushta Bay with Briena_speed_boat_vlore.
There was initial concern about the safety of the speed boat relative to the eight guests supposed to board.
The cave is pretty disappointing, made worse by the presence of too many boats at one time. Our boat driver also lit a cigarette in the cave, with 8 of us onboard his small craft. He then proceeded to throw the cigarette butt into the cave.
Dhimkushta Bay is pretty but tiny. The restaurant is super expensive (600 lek for a corona beer) and the toilet did not flush.
We were also forced to rent chairs and an umbrella, making the 75 euro outing for two people very poor value for money.

Highlight of my Albania trip, Karaburun was my favourite beach! Beautiful waters, enough place to swim! Sunbeds costed 1000 lek but who needs sunbeds when you have this beautiful water? I was the whole time in the water. Came here with an excursion from Vlore. Visiting Sazan island is also a must, the abandoned buildings and the isolated beach are wonderful. Hope they keep the island this way and do not sell it to hotel complexes which destroy our views.

This park is unique to Europe! It was enclosed for decades (it was a military area); therefore, it is characterized by untouched mediterranean terrestrial and marine ecosystems (forests, schrubs, sea grass meadows, reefs, etc.), virgine beaches, and some rusty military buildings on higher places. The entire area (peninsula + island) is unavailable by roads in practice, so there are a very few tourists by boats/small ships from Vlora port...

An experience that should be done at least once in a your life. Crystal clear sea. You can get small boats from Vlora port that take you there and back for 2000 ALL/person. If you add 500 ALL more they take you also to a beautiful cave called the Cave of Haxhi Ali. Spectacular view.
