Despite a very rainy few weeks, the course was in good condition and the scenery really is stunning. Coming from the UK on a multi venue holiday, we had hire clubs which were new and good spec (better than other apparently more highly rated courses in SA provided).
Caddies were excellent on the greens, and a nice halfway hut and restaurant afterwards. A very good experience overall.

Superb course great help from golf staff . Very high quality golfing experience . We had a great social evening and meal at the club . Again staff were very helpful nothing was to much trouble . Overall great golfing experience

A beautiful place to play a round of golf. Highly recommend it as a first choice club in Cape Town. Very friendly and helpful staff. I will definitely be back!

This is by far the best golf course in Cape Town. This championship, 18-hole layout is a rare layout within the vineyards of Steenberg Wine Farm. Only 25 minutes from the centre of Cape Town you will be amazed by its beauty. If you planning a golf holiday in South Africa make sure you visit Cape Town and Steenberg Golf Club

I had a small collection of friends for a special occasion & hosted them for golf - Steenberg delivered on every front. Course was in great shape, views always exceptional, staff were brilliant in understanding our specific needs & both halfway & deck were top notch. Comfortably my favourite golf experience in Cape Town

I celebrated a friend's 50th with a round of golf in September followed by drinks in the clubhouse. We had a fabulous round on your beautiful course. The greens were in great condition. We experienced exceptional service from Director of golf, caddies and clubhouse alike. A wonderful day out. Can't wait to return.

Steenberg Golf Course is open again.. and the greens and fairways are looking better than ever. Just love the winters in the Cape at this time of year. Clear air and wonderful blue skies.. truly champagne weather. Looking forward to getting back on the course

It’s such a shame that the day before we played the greens had been holed and filled with sand. Every one of them! We could not believe we were not told this when we checked in or even by the starter. Shocking really considering how much we paid. At our golf club we would tell any guest or green fee so they had the chance to cancel or we would have offered them a lunch or some small gesture.
The staff in the cafe were not very friendly but the Pro shop were. We would not return or recommend.

The front nine is disappointing with the exception of a few holes the back nine is much better. Tough course to play when the South Easter blows. Expensive!!

Steenberg Golf Course, we have booked golf at this club during our Cape Town vacation.
Did you hire clubs - if so were they any good ?
Is there a restaurant for lunch ?
is it well run and do they have caddies ?

Sorry for late response. I used my own clubs, the caddies are excellent and there is a restaurant in the clubhouse but also another restaurant, 1682, which I would highly recommend for evening Tapas from 5pm I think. Booking there is recommended as it is very popular
