We experienced the self guided tour. Reasonably priced and very informative with current technology. The gaol has interesting history and the stories are there in the telling and in the visual display surrounding you. Staff are helpful and a souvenir shop available if you feel...More

What a great thing to do. Took my 11 year old son and we both did the self guided tour. A real eye opener into past and modern prison life. I wouldn’t have wanted to be incarcerated here that’s for sure. Loved it.

Very good insight on what the prisoners went through and the conditions they needed to adapt too. Finding your way around was abit hard but otherwise recommended

We went here as a kids church group end of term shindig to play laser skirmish. It is so much fun running around the gaol, a little spooky but the kids loved it! Would love to come back and do the guided tour one day

Our group of 8 did audio self guided tour through the gaol and we all found it very interesting. Considering the gaol only closed in the late 90's it was pretty harsh conditions for even the worst criminals. You can take as little or as...More

Did the Crimes of Passion night tour. Not enough time to stop during the tour and take on photographs. Tour guide was friendly, humorous and extremely knowledgeable, shows a definite passion for what he does.

We picked a miserable wet day to do this visit. It made it a challenge getting around but the site itself is very interesting and the audio assisted information is very well done. Setting you up to go through takes some time, so if it's...More

Hi Jo, the self guided audio tour is $22 for adults ($16 for concession/children) and runs 10am-3pm. There are other guided tours available for a slightly higher price i.e. $28 Cheers, Marc
