We visited the nature park and went to La Crampiolo village and the Lake Devero. If you want to do something similar this may be of use to you. When you drive to the car entrance which requires a payment of 6 Euros, it is advisable to enter as the best parking spot is another 5 minutes drive. If parked outside this entrance, you walk at least 15 more minutes before the trail entry point. Once parked at the end of the road, a toilet is located for use. It took about an hour to walk to the village Crampiolo and signpost along may be misleading. At one point, there are signpost pointing two ways and both led to it. However, the one on the left will bring you to a unmaintained soil road with no special scenery, the right one is leading to a pathed road and arguably better scenery. Suggest to do the right one, you would have chance to do the other one on return if you are interested. The village Crampiolo is very beautiful but Lake Devero is another 20 minutes with nothing special. I would describe the whole experience at most 4 stars. There are better points of interest such as Cascata del Toce and Gli Orridi di Uriezzo if you time in this area is limited.

My wife and i were looking for some nature seeing, we drove from Stresa through Domodossola to Alpe Devero park. The road was scenic and we parked for a lovely waterfall on the road side close by.
We got there by noon, packed some sandwiches and unfortunately the parking lot was heavily crowded so we had to park few killometers from the park entrance and climb uphill the paved road before we even started our nature walk.
We have chosen the shorest route to Crampiolo and Lago delle Streghe which is marked as 40 minutes walk.
The walk wasn't easy at all and those 40 minutes lasted more than 1 hour each direction, most of the walk was uphill. Folks we met on the road were also a bit surprised about the route difficulty level. We were dissapointed from the fact there were very few signs leading us the way and we had to guess our way at few points. Lago Delle Streghe is located few hundred meters exiting to the left before Crampiolo on the route but there is no sign telling this.
We arrived Crampiolo for a picnic on the turf, Crampiolo is a nice village where you could also take your lunch at some local restaurants if youre not a picnic type. From Crampiolo there is a circeled route leading to Lago Delle Streghe for around 10 minutes walk, again no road signs. The Lago is nice for a sun tunning rest and relaxation before the almost 1 hour walk back to the parking lot.
An easily half day duration spending for such a visit.
Was it worth it? Hard to tell....

The road from Domodossola is quite easy but the last part a bit challenging. Once there you will certainly enjoy. We have been here several times now with our daughters (8 and 10). Perfect if they like walking. It is not too difficult and with the mountain, the streams and views, they will certainly enjoy. In Crampiolo you can have lunch and nearby you should cool off your feet in one of the lakes, e.g. Lago delle Streghe. Do not promise them icecream in Crampiolo as it is home-made and will probably not live up to their reward expectations. Instead in Alpe Devero you can find 'normal' brands.

We came over the pass from Binn in Switzerland and went down to Alpe Devero. It was a very long day... the Parco Naturale is very beautiful with lots of nice paths.

It is and perhaps will remain one of absolutely most beautiful and secluded places I have walked ever. Should be on the bucket lists of those who keep such.
