We chose to visit Tabacon out of the many possibilities of hot springs and we are glad that we did! The place is beautiful!! Getting the day pass was great as we did not have to reserve a specific time. We spent about 5 hours there and it was very relaxing. There are many pools and when we were there it never felt crowded. I thought that the price was worth the experience, but the drinks were pricy! About $19 for a drink. But, I guess that is to be expected at a place like this. Overall, I would highly recommend a stop here.

As we were not staying at the Tabacon Resort, my daughter and I first got a day pass to the hot springs and then booked a couple of treatments each at the spa. We got there at 11am. When we checked in, we made a lunch reservation at their restaurant and are so glad we did. The food and drinks were absolutely outstanding. We then changed into our bathing suits in the locker room and from there explored the hot springs, which cascade in small rivers over shallow waterfalls down the hillside through the rainforest. It is impossible to describe how beautiful and restful it was, as there are so many small pools and basins that you can go into, all of which are marked with the temperature of the water. The spa itself is absolutely luxurious. You are treated like royalty by all of the staff. We had our treatments done side-by-side by therapists who were clearly masters, with the sounds of a babbling brook right next to us. After that, we got to rest for 30 minutes in their quiet room and were offered fruit and a drink. We then spent the rest of our time in the hot springs again, and left at around 6pm, thoroughly relaxed and totally happy. It was one of the best spa/hot springs experiences I've ever had. One note: If you are driving from La Fortuna, you'll want to pass by the first sign you see on the right for the Tabacon Resort. Continue down the hill and you will come to a small parking lot on the right. Turn in there and show the attendant your day pass. The Tabacon Hot Springs & Spa is across the street from that lot.

Wow….we had such a beautiful time here with friends. The hot springs and surroundings are out of this world and very natural. Thank you so much to Noylin for the recommendations & help with food choices & showing us around the property she was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We really hope to return in the near future!! 5 stars!

Charming place to relax and enjoy as a couple, with family or friends. Excellent service. The problem is the price: a small fortune that you will have to pay. It is worth it? Yes a lot. You can't miss having lunch or dinner there. It was one of the best complete menus we have ever eaten.

Wonderful place to take a break. Lush garden and water at 38 degrees, several pools, each one as pretty as the next... Very good cocktails served by a friendly bartender who takes the time to chat with vs. Deckchairs available for relaxing, showers and spare towels. Lunch at the restaurant was very good and allows you to take a break. Parking is available in front of the hotel and you can leave and return whenever you wish. At nightfall... Very pretty decor... I recommend...

You are immersed in a lush tropical paradise with a maze of so many pools that you’re mostly in them with alone. Now I think they made a mistake when they stopped the buffet lunch because although The Ave had the most amazing view the food was not good. The bar food is good if not a little expensive if you do get hungry though. There were some nice touches but it kinda felt like they were trying to go more high end than the facilities allow. Despite this we really enjoyed the experience and I would highly recommend spending the day here.

Tabacón never disappoints, the unique natural hot springs experience is incomparable. The gardens and the thermal river are wonderful, we enjoyed each of the pools, also some delicious cocktails and snacks at the Aguardiente Bar, the recommendations were super accurate, everything was very delicious. At the end of the night we had dinner at the Ave Restaurant, I recommend the Caribbean Chicken and also the Tomato Risotto, which are the best. We were celebrating my son's birthday and the staff brought him a cupcake and sang birthday to him, it was a very beautiful detail. Many thanks to the entire Tabacón team.

The best Hot Springs without a doubt. I visited Tabacon with my partner and it was great, we arrived around 4pm, we enjoyed the wonderful hot springs. The pool bar offers delicious snacks, you must try the tuna nachos, they are the best. Also highlight the excellent service of bartender Douglas. I will return without a doubt.

Good points • Simple and reliable reservation process on their website with sending a confirmation email and offering other services. • Completely adequate price considering the beauty and luxury of the site. For comparison, an arrival at 10:30 a.m. on a Friday at Strom Spa in Old Quebec costs $94 + taxes = $108.08 and Tabacon hot springs cost me $111.90. • The most beautiful experience I have had in a spa, incomparable. • The thermal water springs are in the Tabacon River and therefore in a natural site, which makes the site exceptional. • Enchanting setting with palm trees/other tropical trees, tropical plants and flowers. I was swimming with hummingbirds flying above me, heavenly. • Excellent customer service: courteous, helpful and very respectful people. • Warm welcome with a welcome juice. • Lockers locked and plenty of room to change. • Very large site. I was afraid of getting bored staying all day, but there are so many places to swim that it takes a long time to go around each pool to take photos of them. I arrived at 11 a.m., my spa/massage experience lasted from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., which also allowed me to appreciate the site at night. • Great experience both during the day and in the evening, 2 periods not to be missed. Tabacon massage treatment Good points • Great experience in the spa 30 minutes before/after with juice, snack, nice little jacuzzi and deck chairs. • Beautiful bungalow in the middle of the jungle with shower where you rinse after the treatment. Negative points • Professional massage therapist, but very cold and not smiling. • Price too expensive for what it is, i.e. $263.32 for 80 minutes. Ave Restaurant • St-Louis ribs: I was disappointed that there were no starches. I thought it would be noodles and vegetables, but it ended up being vegetables cut into noodle shapes. • Disappointing value for money: If I had to do it again, I would go to the snack bar near the swimming pool. Tip: There are fewer people before dinner if you want photos without anyone in them. A must for people wanting to discover the hot springs of Costa Rica.

After a lot of research we decided on Tabacón. We went about 4:00 and were glad we did. Signage could have been improved upon. We accident went to the hotel first, then travelled down the road to the springs but it was not very clear where to park/enter. Once we found our way we had a great experience. The pools were quite private with few people in each. The lower pool has a swim up bar with food a cocktails, becoming the busiest pool. The kids loved the whole experience. In my opinion, going in the heat of the day would be less enjoyable with the warm pools. You can get as many fresh towels as you want upon return if your old one.
