- steve ySiren, Wisconsin291 contributionsFun marketFound this market just a short walk to/from the V&A waterfront. Alot of different food, clothing, vegetables for sale. Very laid back fun place to see/stop for a couple of hours. They have a seating area if you want to sit and enjoy your food and drink with friends! Went on Saturday, and also open on Wednesday evening!!Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 October 2023
- holidaylover55Nairobi, Kenya295 contributionsI WILL BE BACK SOONI met up with friends for Lunch at the market and was not disappointed. The variety of food is DA BOMB. We opted for a Rump steak Burger , minus the bun for one stand. Meat was Cooked to perfection !! I went to another stall and ordered a Mixed Mushroom skewer. It was a perfect pairing. For drinks we settled on a few bottles of Organic Bubbels , another winner. Only downside is this place get packed , so if you don’t like crowds this place is not for you. Also finding a seat can be challenging. But that all said , Great place , great food , value for money. One tip park in the Waterfront parking area and walk.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 30 December 2023
- Suzie GCape Town, South Africa204 contributionsFarm market in the heart of Cape TownA very popular market in Cape Town. You can find all sorts of sellers there like clothing and other items, fresh produce and plants. There are many food and beverage stalls. Everyone will be able to find something. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, I also saw gluten free food too. Due its popularity, it is also very busy! You will need to queue for food, drinks, toilet and finding a table with seats could be a challenge. During the summer months, they are open Wednesday evenings, otherwise weekends only. I would recommend to visit. If you want to be blown away how creative vegan sushi can be, try Plushi! My fish eater friends love it too!Visited January 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 11 January 2024
- Travelswithmyboys121 contributionsAmazing! Why doesn’t this have a higher ranking? This is one of the best things to do in Cape Town, I can’t understand why it doesn’t have more reviews and a higher ranking. Definitely visit and enjoy - there’s a huge range of high quality produce, plenty of seating and a great vibe. About 10 mins walk from the V&A Waterfront.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 September 2024

It is well laid out, with a huge selection of different foods to choose from, making It very difficult to decide what to have to eat! There was plenty of seating all over the place, and a lovely vibe. There was food to eat there, or even to take home, and lots of fresh produce to buy as well.Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 14 September 2024

Visited the market and was glad to see small businesses being given the opportunity to market their wares.
My disappointments:-
1. Very few people wearing masks . The place is not really an "outdoor" venue as it was more cramped than a lot of "indoor" ones!
2. Dogs are allowed but should be discouraged ... even on a leash.
Otherwise, good luck to the vendors.

This is a great place for an informal meal and place to buy fresh produce.
The food stalls offer a variety of food different and delicious. Seating is available in short supply, but if you wait a place becomes available. The bar area sells nice beer on tap.
The food and flowers are a delight for the eyes, beautifully displayed.

I absolutely adore this market, there's great food, great vibes and chilled music. It's open at the weekends on Saturday and situated a short walk from the V&A Waterfront; you'll find craft, clothing, food stalls, flowers, local art and more. Highly recommend it if you're in town at the weekend; it's a cool place to be.

Visited on a Sunday, so it's quite full but the atmosphere is great and there's a great selection. Everything is a bit more expensive, but the food is of excellent quality (comparable to the Isemarkt in Hamburg if you know it) and the clientele is similar. Hip people who like to drink good coffee and stroll around in a slightly more expensive atmosphere.
By the way, there are plenty of parking spaces in the V&A whaterfront car park. (2 euros for the whole day).

What a change this market underwent in the last years. From a small neighbourhood market next to the Oranjezicht Farm to a larger place in Helen Zille's residence to a big , beautiful place next to the sea near the Waterfront!
A large selection of fruits, vegetables, bread, cake, flowers and so much more, a lot organic and all beautifully presented. Next to the shopping market many food stalls and benches on a sort of deck overlooking the sea.
Very attractive and therefore very popular.
But only open on Saturday/Sunday morning until 2pm and on Wednesday evening as a night market!

This farmers market offers so much more than fresh produce. It is the perfect venue to find the most amazing dishes, drinks, gifts and then of course - fresh produce.
You are spoilt for choice here. Every single stall offers something different and some of the displays are brilliant.
I spent an hour plus just browsing but loved spending the time with friends drinking bubbly and trying all the different dishes - we sampled quite a few.
Wished I lived closer.

I stumbled over the Market on a Saturday. Its a great walk from Beach Road to the Waterfront. It is stunning. The fruit, vegetables, food to eat and other stands are stunning. But!! it is full of wealthy people, felt like Waitrose in Chelsea!! Don't let that put you off, it is well worth a visit and also gives many locals a good outlet. Aside, no fresh fish to speak of - some vac packed NO salmon and an Oyster stall.

I love the Neighbourgoods market in Woodstock, and to a lesser extend the Bay harbour market in Hout Bay. How does the Oranjezicht market compare to those ? I go to the markets not for shopping, but for eating and people watching.
