There is some mostly rocky beach here, during low tide, but if its windy and the tide is high you will get wet (mouillé) on the promenade. Still a nice place to be, because of the fresh air and pleasant ambiance with a former lighthouse, grassy spaces and restaurants on the landside of Beach road. It is also close to the lovely Green Point park.

In 1740 a vessel called de Visch was wrecked at Mouille point after which the authorities attempted to build a breakwater. Eventually it was not finalized, so the ocean can still be running wild here.

We stopped to see the shipwreck (engine of SS Athens) which was worth a look if you are in the area. There is also a very jolly lighthouse.

We were just going for a walk down the coast from Cape Town and came across this beach. Lovely place with a bit if history. As with all the other beaches, not great for swimming due to the kelp and rocks.

We spent some enjoyable time here while on a wander from Camps Bay to the V&A waterfront. Good views of Robben Island, plenty of space to relax (grass or beach), interesting sculptures and the lighthouse.
