About
At Africa's Best Adventures we specialize in great adventures to destinations in SA, Namibia and Botswana. We take great care in designing adventures for singles, couples, friend and family groups. All our safaris are designed to suit specific client needs. We do not offer set departures and we don't offer overland tours to large groups. You can choose between a lodge safari or a camping safari, or perhaps a combination of the two. All safaris are designed with meticulous care and we always aim to make each adventure as interesting and varied as possible. Meals play a big part in all tours and we love cooking up a variety of excellent dishes, often using ingredients indigenous to the area we are traveling in! Our vehicles are large, comfortable landcruisers, overland kitted and perfectly up to the task to transport guests and equipment to all the often far off, remotes parts of Africa. Our guides are qualified nature and dangerous animal guides with a love for people and the bush!

It was the most spectaculair trip of mine life.
Altis has done a great job. We have seen the big Five in 5 day’s. It was an amazing adventure and we have enjoyd our time.

Mine fourth trip with Altis. This time we made a tour with five national parks. First we did Hlane( Swaziland) and Hluhluwe. After these parks we had Tsehlanyane and Isimagaliso in Lesotho. And last Golden Gate in Vrijstaat. All beautiful in their own way! And Altis did a fantastic job again. He is a good cook, driver and great guide. All services in one😃 luckily Africa is big so i can come back again.

Our plan to visit Namibia had been in the making for a while but the format of the trip (bus, solo, guide) and the exact regions to visit were something we were not sure about. We were lucky enough to come across Altis’s website for Africa’s Best Adventures which was very well made and gave a lot of details about the proposed route and the sites (with pictures). After a video call with Altis, we decided to go ahead and book our trip with him, which was an excellent decision! From the beginning, Altis was very responsive to our questions and requests about the trip and he was able to arrange all of the details for us in advance in a very organized way. This removed a lot of potential stress from us about trying to deal with all of this from Canada. The trip itself was absolutely amazing! We followed Altis with our rented camping 4x4 on a trajectory that Altis had designed for us. Altis has an incredible knowledge of botany and wildlife and he helped us appreciate so much of what we saw through his insight. He was always very cheerful with a great sense of humour that made the entire trip so much fun. In talking with him, it is clear that he is really passionate about exploring (and protecting) the natural beauty of Namibia and South Africa. Even if you feel confident enough to travel through Namibia yourself, doing so with a professional guide like Altis will make the same trip so much more interesting; we would have missed many details otherwise! All together a super experience with Altis and Africa’s Best Adventures and I strongly recommend them!!

Many thanks for taking the time to write your review, and especially thank you for your kind words! Off course none of this would have been possible without you and your wonderful family! It was such a pleasure to travel with you all and i absolutely loved every moment...from the morning coffee on day one to the last dinner on day fifteen...the fun just never ended! Thanks too for your keen sense to learn about Namibia as well as the great interest you showed in the safari as a whole...it all added up to it being such a successful adventure!
I certainly hope we can do it all over somewhere else sooner than later!

This was my second trip with Africa’s Best Adventures- last year Namibia, this year Botswana.
Had an amazing time. So many incredible wildlife encounters- lions, leopards, hyenas, wild dogs and of course plenty of elephants, zebras and giraffes.
Loved every minute.
Altis is an excellent tour guide, driver and cook.
Highly recommend if you are looking for a more personalized adventure.

Where to start hey, what an amazing trip. We have just finished a 13 day tour of Botswana with Altis and Africa’s Best Adventures.
Altis was an extremely friendly, personable, knowledgeable and skilled guide/driver who shared with us his passion for getting out amongst it and all things nature. His ability to ensure that each day had something to look forward to was admirable and made for a thrilling journey that had us jumping out of bed ready for what was install.
The itinerary was thoroughly planned out for our schedule, and demonstrated Altis’s intimate knowledge of the area and allowed for the perfect amount of time at each destination.
Each day our tastebuds were also entertained with delicious meals and there was lots of variety too.
We had so many unforgettable wildlife encounters thanks to Altis and our local guide Baitsholedi (B-man), who through skill (or luck) had us in the right place at the right time.
We will never forget the chorus of lions, hyenas, elephants, hippos, impalas, owls and jackals at night as we camped under the stars. It sure beats staying in a lodge.
This was the trip of a lifetime.
If you’re considering a trip with Africa’s Best Adventures, do it! You won’t regret it!

I honestly cannot say enough about the way you conducted yourselves during this amazing adventure! It was truly rewarding to experience the enthusiasm which you showed all along, all the hard work you put in to make things work, your punctuality to get the days off to an early start etc etc etc, and i can carry on until my pen runs dry!

My husband and I were blessed to experience a 24 day camping safari from Cape Town SA up, down and across Namibia with Altis of Africa’s Best Adventures. We’ve camped before in the USA for up to a week, but never for this long and never in Africa. It was an amazing adventure and a truly rewarding experience. The communication from Altis from the beginning was great. He provided lots of options on length of trip, locations/countries to visit, types of accommodations and route depending on our budget and ALL of the top notch equipment. We opted for the most magnificent exploration of Namibia camping for 24 wonderful days. The days just flew by. Altis was the master when it came to planning our route, packing, driving, cooking (oh the cooking) and the greatest teacher throughout our trip on the vastly different landscapes, all the animals and birds and even the stars. Everyday brought new surprises, beautiful scenery, the coolest animal sightings on safari, fun lunch spots en route, magnificent sunsets with sundowners and the most delicious fireside dinners. I would without hesitation recommend Altis and Africa’s Best Adventure to anyone looking for a once (or twice) in a lifetime adventure in Southern Africa. He plans all the details, provides everything needed and is cost effective. He has definitely made our travel life richer with neverending memories.

We had an absolutely amazing 24-day safari through Namibia and South Africa with Africa's Best Adventures. Altis (the owner) provides customized safaris for each client. We chose mostly camping accommodations at sites with full facilities but spent the first and last night in a nice lodge. Our adventure was hands-on, where we helped setup and tear down the tents each day, in addition to help with cooking and cleanup each night. Altis was amazing in planning all of the meals and cooking them over a braai, which is a South African barbecue. The homemade bread cooked in a pot was simply amazing. We especially enjoyed dinner and sundowners each night, as we discussed the day's highlights.
Each morning, Altis was up early preparing for the day's adventure. We knew it was our time to get moving, when we could hear the water boiling for coffee and tea. Altis planned so many incredible destinations and performed all of the driving from start to finish. We were very relaxed knowing that he had been to all of the destinations before. Altis is also an incredible safari guide, who knows how to find elusive animals including cheetahs and lions, as well as smaller game like cats and owls hiding in trees.
There were so many incredible highlights on this trip, from Fish River Canyon (the world's second largest behind the Grand Canyon) and wild horses of the Namib desert, to Sesriem Deadvlei and Big Daddy Dune (the second tallest dune in Namibia), to the hundreds of thousands of seals that have made Cape Cross home, to feeding wild porcupines, to the incredible Epupa Falls Lodge right on the Kunene River, which separates Namibia and Angola. We ended the trip with 3 amazing nights in Etosha National Park Namibia, and 3 nights in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in the Kalahari in South Africa.
I highly recommend a safari trip with Africa's Best Adventures, you won't regret it.

We did a great safari from December 26 to January 6, 2023.
From the start it was great. Altis was right on time to pick us up, with his huge car, and in the afternoon we were already in Pilanesberg. Even had time for a game drive. Altis is a very pleasant and knowledgeable driver (also on unpaved roads) and knows an incredible amount about nature. He also makes you enthusiastic by following all kinds of tracks of the animals. He knows how to tell with passion about both the large and the small animals. Birds are also part of his repertoire .
Camping was an unforgettable experience, zebras, kudu, Nyalas etc. walk around you.
If you are in doubt whether you want to go on safari, stop now and contact Altis.

We are still excited by the 17 days safari in Botswana, organized for the smallest details by Altis.
It was a great experience composed of animal watching, driving in the bush, sleeping in the wild and getting to know the wild life of Africa.
All that thanks to Altis who is a professional guide, excellent cook, and has his unique way of providing his clients the best time.

We returned now from a 17d safari in Botswana with Altis, an amazing professional guide who planned the trip to the last detail.
Altis is a guide, a cooker, a mechanics, a conversation man that makes his clients very confortable during the trip.
Altis is a safari pro. guide in a manner that he knows a lot about animals, birds and trees.
If you love nature, wildlife intimate group, Altis is the man for you in Africa.
I wiil never forget this safari trip and its creator.

What an amazing adventure this was! From the moment we met at the airport in Maun, to the day we said our goodbyes, it was special! By far one of the most enjoyable safaris i have ever done. Thank you for your friendship and kindness during the 17 days we spent together, it will stay with me for a very long time. I hope to travel with you and Ariela again in the near future.
