Very interesting museum with detail of the history of the canal. The canal is fascinating engineering and this museum brings it all to life. Very good and worth visiting if at the canal.

Very interesting to visit with activity sheets for children to fill in and hand held units provided so that you can walk along the canal and stop at various points and get a commentary on details of the specific area.

You can easily while away an hour or two meandering around the exhibits of this museum which captures the history of the canals. Then take some time to enjoy a coffee and cake at the integral cafe .

The museum at Stoke Bruerne sits alongside a pretty and active stretch of the Grand Union canal, ideal for some unchallenging but rewarding walks. It's a short walk from the famous Blisworth tunnel and within easy range of the modestly proportioned Stoke Bruerne nature reserve....More

We went for a walk along the canal, and stopped for tea and cake at the café. There was a good choice of very reasonably priced cakes, which were very tasty. We didn't have time to go the museum, but will do on another visit.

This is a small but relevant collection of information and artefacts mainly focussed on the construction and life of the Grand Union Canal. There is enough to keep adults and children interested but static displays outnumber interactive elements significantly. A Gift Shop and Cafe is...More

It's very reasonably priced especially for concessions, i.e. pensioners and free for under 5s. The two-floor exhibition is colourful and informative with some 'hands on' exhibits for both young and old. It's certainly worth a visit and we would hope to go again, perhaps without...More

I called in here on my way home from Northampton. The museum had a good collection of canal ephemera and there is the usual gift shop area. The car park was very convenient and free toilets are provided behind the building. There are several places...More

A bit of grubby towpath, a tunnel, and possibly the worst museum I have ever come across. The kids were interested with the boats moored along the towpath, but any attempt to spend a day here is wishful thinking in my view.

Decided to visit the Museum on a day in early December. The Museum was very interesting and they had concessions which was a bonus. Do not agree with the £3.00 parking fee which is on top of the admission to the Museum. Took a walk...More
