Columbus Park is an open-air historical and archaeological museum, set on 3 acres of Discovery Bay overlooking the ocean. It was named as such because Columbus could not find a source of fresh water close. The museum has recently been remodeled and now includes a bar and a branch of the popular jerk restaurant "Scotchies". There are also ambitious plans to further develop the museum in the future.

This was an unplanned stop by our guide, on the way to Ocho Rious. This was a nice extra to our daylong trip. It took less than 20 min to walk around while a guide was telling us Jamaican history. Place is run down a...More

The “museum” is in a very bad shape. I would recommend to stop only for the view from the museum. It is sad that Jamaican history is left in such a state.

This place was certainly interesting. Unfortunately, the place is no longer cared for. It is not worth a stop.

Came back down the mountain, part of the tour. Restaurant was good for their Jerk chicken and pork. Not much of a park.

This place is one of the most novel things I've ever seen. An outdoor museum charting the very birth of Jamaican history all the way to 19th century. The very sad thing is that it appears that once the idea came about, that was that...More

It's history from 1494 - Make the stop! You'll find some ancient relics like canons, corn buskers, water system, and original walls and architecture from the 1400's. Great Jamaican photo op, and a view of the ocean that will be worth seeing!

Although there has been much controversy over the accuracy of Columbus' conquests, there is no denying that this park is a beautiful setting with many interesting items to take in - great for photo-ops!
