I don't normally whinge but I feel a necessity to do so on this ocaision.
All I can say is the "Emperor's new clothes". Seriously bad, and very expensive. Much better public houses and restaurants to find in this lovely little Essex town.

Don't go here very often as the drink prices are high and the acoustics are terrible. I really struggle to hear what is being said. There are hardly any soft furnishings to absorb and soften the noise. We used to met up with friends there...More

I'm sorry you feel that way. We were in the middle of re decorating so this may be why it felt that way. Have you seen our new lounge area? It is a great place to meet and offers lovely comfortable sofas.
Been here many times as it is my local. Good pub serving a selection of real ales,lagers and bottled beer. All are made welcome including dog walkers,families etc. Not a foodies pub just the usual snacks. Has various themed evenings and a beer festival coming...More
