This beach currently has no amenities. On 2/27/20 my husband and I were walking from our parked car to the beach, a local on a motorcycle drove up to my husband, circled him with the motorcycle then proceeded to pull off the gold chain and cross around his neck. The chain broke, my husband grabbed the cross, the local then tried to grab the broken chain again, my husband pushed him away. Thankfully the local then sped off on his motorcycle. We were pretty shook up. Have been coming to this beach & St Maarten for 26 years and this is the first time anything like this has happened. Will no longer wear any jewelry to beaches!

Our Sint Maarten vacation did not let our memories down. The whole two weeks were spectacular. Mullet Bay is still out favorite beach. Just wonderful people there and the most gorgeous beach scene. The villa at Nettle Baie was incredible and we spent several days there just sunning on our own beach by the Caribbean Sea. We cooked most of our meals with groceries from the Maho Market. We absolutely adore Saint Martin /Sint Maarten and would recommend it to anyone who loves the beach and the Caribbean. Have a blast.

We love Baie Rouge Beach. It is rustic, clean & peaceful with beautiful surroundings. There are no services or restaurants on this beach. Access is a little tricky as you must enter through a gate that states it is private however you do have access to the beach as you do to all the public beaches of St. Martin & Sint Maarten. Be wary of the access road & parking area as it is quite rough with deep grooves in the ground where a car can easily be damaged.
You may find families gathered near the entrance to the beach at the foot of the colourful stairs enjoying the wide spaces & clear waters.
Some couples gather a little further South along the beach, never crowded. Further still you will come upon nude bathers enjoying the sun & surf.
Something for everyone. Enjoy safely.

We visited this beach a couple of different times and it was our very favorite on the whole island. We choose to spend our last beach day here. The snorkeling along the rocks and around the corner is perfect! No need to spend money on an expensive excursion just go to Go Sports and buy mask and come here! Great wildlife! This spot has great sand with some lightly pink sand! We had a great spot up on the hill under the palm trees with a great overlook of the whole beach! So peaceful!

Wonderful empty beach on the French side. The beach is beautiful, and the water is amazing. There are very few beach goers as the parking lot is small. Bring your own food, beach chairs, and beverages as there are no facilities at this beach. Clothing optional/nude section is about 400 yards to the left of the entrance. Great place to get a seamless tan if one desire. The beach is very long and great to walk. As you head left from the entrance the beach is lined with several villas. We were fortunate that for this trip we were in one of the villas with direct access to the sand off our expansive deck.
The only downside, and it just me being picky, is the beach by the water is lined with large rocks, but there are areas with openings, so you have direct access into the amazing water. One of the best beaches on the island.
Definitely worth the visit.

It’s beautiful but not good for kids or fun water playing. We stared at the unpredictable waves and lied in beach for 1.5 hours . Saw families came and left quickly. It’s hard to find the entrance via GPS. There is an open gate entrance that you would easily miss. We had to ask a local nice guy.

It is on the french side, fairly secluded so expect topless and some nude bathing if you have children. Parking is tough very small area to park. Beautiful beach to just chill. We brought our own chairs and lunch as there is no venders there or restaurants.

One of the best beaches on the island. Gorgeous, uncrowded, clean. I came here today for a couple hours then left to try another beach. Immediately left and came back here as it was so much better.

Baie Rouge Beach is located in the northwest part of St Martin. It has a small parking lot situated at the far right side of the beach. A restaurant/bar is located at this end of the beach.
A few hundred yards to the left, the beach abruptly becomes a nude beach. There's no signage; everyone is simply nude from a certain point on. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available to rent on both sections. My husband and I set up on the nude portion.
The beach extends for about a mile. Private residences and what appeared to be a resort are situated unobtrusively along the beach. We walked nude for a fair distance.
The sand is deep, and the slope of the beach is much steeper than at other beaches that we visited. These factors make walking the beach somewhat arduous. It was also quite hot - not much breeze.
We put our g-string swimsuits on to walk to the snack bar to get cold drinks. Of course, being topless was not an issue anywhere on the beach.
This is not a beach that we would care to visit again because of the less-than-ideal features that I mentioned, when there are better places for nude beaching on the island. However, a long, quiet, recognized nude beach is certainly not a bad thing!

Unfortunately, we found Baie Rouge on our last day otherwise we would have spent numerous days there. We were extremely impressed by its beauty and solitude. Be aware that the floor of the ocean drops off quickly so you can go from 3 feet of water to 6 feet of water in a matter of steps. As you venture down the long beach (away from the small crowd on beach chairs) you will encounter topless women and eventually a few all-nude bathers. The waves will also increase (which we like) so be aware of that as well. The beach also becomes rocky near the ocean which is another reason that there aren't many people there. Still, it's worth the 40 minute walk. Baie Rouge also has the softest sand I've ever encountered. It's a must see beach and really nicer than Orient Beach which gets all of the St. Martin publicity.

My wife and I are visit SMX in late June, and we are planning the beaches we want to visit? Is the entire beach clothing optional or is it necessary to hide away in one of the coves to go nude? Also, can we rent chairs and an umbrella? And can we get food and drinks at the beach?

From Marigot you cross the bridge which is at Sandy-Ground and keep driving through Baie-Nettlé Bay. After you have passed the cluster of hotels the road will go up a bit of an incline and then take a sharp turn to the left.Do not turn since at the turn, straight ahead of you is the parking lot for Baie Rouge.

David was just on Baie Rouge and happy to say beautiful as ever. Like all beaches waves are bigger some days than others so not sure why some complain about rough seas unless they are used to fla gulf beaches. Raymond, cliffs, beach, all still great as usual
