We walked around the Giant but it's best viewed from across the valley. There's a good viewpoint with car parking just outside the village of Cerne Abbas. The viewpoint is also within easy walking distance from the village centre.

Carved into the mountainside is a figure of a Giant man, definately NOT a female figure as you can visibly observe. Conflicting reports on who it might have been some say the roman God Hercules and some say Oliver Cromwell although why Cromwell would be...More

Having heard so much about this we found it to be very overated and underwhelming ... hardly worth the effort to find it.

Planned to visit this as our 9yr old boy gets a kick out this type of thing...well at that age it's all willies and bottoms facination 😭 had him close his eyes then look to the hill. Made him laugh big time.

We passed here shortly after a few weeks of sumptuous rain and therefore the grass was really high, obliterating partly the horizontal lines. I guess when the grass has been mowed the figure will be better visible since they have added some fresh white limestone...More

What an absolute nightmare of a place to visit unless you are heading north/south on the A352. Trying to come in from any other direction will have you driving around the countryside - albeit some beautiful countryside. I originally followed the signs from Sherborne, before...More

Those that detract are probably the ones who complain exactly when between his legs! Notorious for its fertility properties, and yes couples have been caught in the past! The walks in the area are fantastic. As per most of the other reviews...you see more in...More

There is a small carpark and viewpoint to see the Cerne Abbas Giant but you don't really get a good view, worth a look at though if you are in the area.

I really don't think this "chalk" depiction is as visually significant as some of the other ones in the area. I believe the best view is from a roadside overlook on the road to Sherborne.

Really odd place to have such a monument but really intriguing place to visit...... Better on a dry day!
