Gives an insight into local folkore in sea monsters. It is not a big museum (4-5 rooms), making it just about right as a short stop to relieve your kids from sitting in the car all day.

Very small but done very nicely. With a small gift and coffee shop attached. Covers the topic of local sea monsters which, if real, would be a bit scary to bump into on a wind swept beach. A nice place to pop into while exploring...More

It was interesting and fun, but a little expensive for a museum so small (then again we are in Iceland...) The setting in the museum was great.

Really enjoyed this museum for the content but mostly for the different ways it was interactive to learn about the content. Lovely open concept room that I felt I could have spent all afternoon in.

This little museum has some very nice displays and is a great summery of local tales and monster sightseeing. Most kids above 5 (I think) would be OK. My daughter is 9 and loved the museum. Fair price entry for what you get.

Quirky museum. Afterwards you start spotting monsters on the fjells and fjords. Go see it; young kids might get spooked through.
