This is a good stop on the road to Akaroa. There not a great deal there except an old train carriage that you can look in, and a craft shop in the old station. There are public toilets there too.

This is a lovely little museum housed in the old Little River station masters office and waiting room. Outside there is a train carriage and restored cabin where drivers used to stay when they could not get home. There is also a room with the...More

This old railway station provides an excellent point to get out and stretch your legs. We were driving from Christchurch to Akaroa (which incidentally has some of the most beautiful scenery I think I've ever seen) and stopped here to have a look around. There...More

This rail station in the small town of Little River is now a crafts store with a showcase of the old train. It has little to offer but is an ideal stopever betweeen Christchurch and Akaroa.

This local craft place is a good place for local information and crafts. They sell lovely fudge and jams made locally and some very quirky crafts. The building and history is well worth a visit.

Small rail station that doubles as a local craft store, that's about it,Has a tiny museum with not much in it,Could be a real asset if promoted and was more railway museum than craft store

We love calling in to the Little River Rail Station. It is a good place to stretch ones legs and to have a look at local arts and crafts. Toilets are always clean and the staff are friendly.

Railroad buffs will have a fun time perusing the railroading artifacts collected and on display here. Visitors will find memories of railroading as it used to be here and in other places. Most of the history displayed will evoke the past glory of what railroading...More

Didn't realise this little station existed, til we stumbled upon it wandering around Little River. Very cute and interesting. Easy to find and takes no time to enjoy.
