Free parking at base of the hill allows a short walk to the tower, the mill, which has a small restaurant, further parking and a pond. Seems a popular place to picnic. We saw lizards and a grass snake. There is also a restaurant at...More

We stayed in Mont-Dol for a couple of days and discovered a very nice path up the hill leading to an old wind mill and a chapel with an impressive view point. It’s worth taking the pedestrian path with the warning sign which says that...More

While driving past we saw this rock standing tall in an area that was really flat. On investigation we found a lovely little village with a climb up to a chapel. We were lazy and drove up to the top where there is a free...More

Walk up if you will - drive up to the small car park if you prefer - but whatever, get to the top. Great views and great story about the Devil & St Michael (memo. St Michael's Mount along the coast) fighting over ownership of...More

But still a great way to start the day. We stopped here for our first stop in Brittany. The tower is easy to climb and tge view is great - or would have been after the mist had cleared! 1783.

Worth a detour for outstanding views across the reclaimed marshlands from the summit of the Mont. Small but adequate car park at the top. Worthwhile climbing to the top of the tower upon which is situated a statue of the Virgin Mary via a narrow...More

This was the second time we'd visited but the weather wasn't kind to us and we didn't get much of a view. You could just about make out the triangular Mont St Michel in the distance.

We visited Mont Dol and were looking forward to climbing the tower. You can see Mont Saint Michel in the distance and enjoy the overall vista of the surrounding countryside. We visited twice, once walking up and the other time driving to the top. Ideally...More

Mont Dol is really an experience. legend sais it was the place where Saint Michael fought with the devil, and in the mountain you can see some scratches to attest for the fight. In any case, it is one of the two mounts of the...More
