What an amazing and adventurous day spent with my family. My son of 11 had an absolute blast. My nephew visiting from London was simply awestruck and the rest of us had an equally amazing experience. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. From the start with the "bundu-bashing" ride up to the top of the mountain, to all the different zip rides to the bottom. What a heavenly day.
Fabulous guides only added to the overall wonderful adventure.

I can’t think of many better ways to spend the afternoon with my family (me, wife, two children 11 & 13).
We did something together that was very much outside our comfort zones and yet we felt completely safe throughout. And this all took place in awesome scenery.
We had friendly welcome from all of the team at arrival and our two guides Luwayne and Jaylee did a fantastic job balancing keeping us safe at all times and adding energy and fun.
They clearly love what they do and were very good at it - that’s certainly a great comfort when they are clipping us and in clipping us from each zip line!
Overall this was an excellent experience for us.

Wow, what an incredible experience. We loved visiting the nature reserve. Our guides were Gummy and Destiny and they were absolutely fabulous at looking after us. We felt safe and well informed at all times as well as comfortable and Gummy’s lovely friendly funny sense of humour kept us at ease and made us laugh!
The environment is breathtaking, the whole experience is so natural and not commercialised at all. The 4x4 drive into the mountains was very bumpy but we were lucky enough to have the VIP jeep which was very comfortable.
Fabulous experience, would definitely recommend.

The views were great and there was lots of fun. We took lots of photos and videos.
It should be stressed that you MUST be fit and have upper body strength to be able to pull yourself with your weight if you get stuck. A colleague got stuck and hung there for an hour as she could not pull herself and the guide could not either. We had to wait until the next group of people caught up so that an extra guide could come in and assist while 2 guides pulled her out. It was not good sitting around in the sun for so long. There really should be a rope situated at every station in case this ever happens again. That way the person stuck can be pulled in.
All in all we did have a lot of fun. Hats must be worn on hot days with sunblock. Take water please, the last 1km back is a HECTIC walk/climb.
I would definitely recommend family and friends to go. It was a beautiful experience.

It was an experience of a lifetime. Our guides, Luwayne and Innosense were so extremely good at guiding us in an enjoyable manner and seeing to it that we all got to the other side safely. Some of us were truly scared to start. They are fun to be around with with lots of quirks and entertaining comments. Cannot wait to go again. Will do better this time guys.... they sometimes had to reel us in because the wind made the ladies airborne.

I am going to be honest this is a one where I said to myself what have I booked us into but wow highlight of an amazing South African holiday.
Recommended this adventure by our South African friends. Went with myself and family , husband and 3 kids. Bumpy well so I thought getting to the place , friendly reception and some other adventurers had just returned and were buzzing. Went through safety talk and then kitted up. We had 2 guides Ngoni and Ronwill and off we went off road . This is possibly the most bumpiest drive going through a valley and slow climb up the mountain. I am not great with heights so there was a lot of eyes closed as we headed up along side mountain tracks. When we got to the top the realisation of what we were about to do hit home. As my youngest was so light it was decided for the first few zips Ronwill would ‘Uber her across. At all times Ronwill and Ngoni were on point with safety , reminding us of how to position when zipping , on the platforms.
Massive shout out to Ngoni and Ronwill, they relaxed our nerves, particularly mine and made us laugh so much . They have walkie-talkies and constantly in touch and we loved the nicknames that they gave us all. There were times when I wasn’t ready and the guides were so patient.
As a family this was the best adventure and I still can’t believe we did it . Ngoni and Ronwill, thank you

Excellent day out, well run, well organised and professional set up. They are serious about safety but still manage to have fun. The off road 4 x4 up the mountain to the first Zip wire run is worth the trip alone. A highlight of our SA trip.

The staff were extremely easy going and accommodating, from booking to our final farewell, and also the nicest people. The 4x4 trip up the mountain was just stunning! And the Ziplining, well, for someone who is afraid of heights, the guys made me feel super safe. They were thoroughly professional and we had plenty of laughter. I couldn’t recommend this enough, it was just amazing!!

Our family group of 6 enjoyed a spectacular day out on Sat 9th Jan 2021. The entire tour is a very professionally run and slick operation. The scenery is magnificent, the 4x4 trip up to the start of the zip lining is fun and exhilarating. The 11 slides are amazing and while you feel completely safe doing them, the adrenaline rush is very real! A massive shout out to our awesome guides, Lucky and Justin - you two really made our experience even more enjoyable - thank you!!

The views are insane. The whole idea is insane. You wonder how anybody got the idea to zip here but you are glad they did! You zip 11 lines but it feels like you were there only 15 minutes, the time flys. The guides are fun yo be with but are still professional and safety conscience.

What is the best option of transport back and forth from from cape town city center. What would be the cost?
Written 25 October 2019
Hi, We do have a few recommended transport providers that provide return transfers to the Cape Canopy Tour and back.
Please email us and we can gladly send you a list of suppliers.
Written 27 October 2019
May I know the rate for transport to go to this park if using one of the below option:
1. rent a car
2. taxi
Written 27 June 2018
Taxi best option. Arrange on Cape Town for return.

Hi, we are booked for the ziplining expedition with cape canopy tours end of March and will be driving down from stellenbosch . How safe is it for a 5 year to do zip lining ? We were told she can with an instructor but still very nervous and unsure of it. Kindly share feedback and any prior experience. Thanks

Hi, thanks for your question. Yes, we do take children from the age of 5, and we send them in tandem with one of our guides and most are absolutely fine and have a great time - it's the parents that are usually nervous ;)
But ultimately you would know your child best: if they are adventurous they should be fine; but if they are more timid then perhaps this activity is not best suited to their idea of fun?

how do i get there from Cape Town? Are there transfers from hotels? If there are, how can I get in touch with them?
Written 26 December 2017
Hi Rebecca, Cape Canopy Tour is about 1 hour from Cape Town, but we don't offer transfers unfortunately.
We do suggest a few reputable suppliers that we have already pre-negotiated rates with. Rates below are the current approximation and may change.
DETAILS:
** Be sure to Quote: Cape Canopy Tour to get the pre-negotiated fixed rate
** Also be very clear to remind driver that it is a return cost and that he is to wait for you
** Cape Canopy Tour is based in the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve, on the R321, in Grabouw
** Costs are a flat rate for 1-4 passengers traveling

Is there any transfers available to and from hotel? Or is it best to get a taxi?

How long does the trip take if you were to start at the earliest time available in the morning?

Hi Claire,
Thanks for the question - The duration of the tour is 4-5 hours. We always recommend that guests put aside a half day to enjoy the adventure with us.

Is it automatic braking or do I have to brake?
Written 15 March 2016
There are safety brakes on every line, so you use your glove to keep yourself facing forwards and to control how fast or slow you want to travel.
If you don't slow down, the guides will use the safety brakes to slow you down as you approach the platform.
