We landed up at Oneiric on old years day by chance as we happened to see they were open.
We got there early and came across Hanneka. We were travelling with our little puppy and she was so accommodating.
The wines were great and we had a fantastic relaxing afternoon.

If you are heading through or past the Elgin valley - do yourself a favour and make a booking to stop for a wine tasting and a picnic lunch at Oneiric Wines. It is quite simply one of the most beautiful wine estates I have ever visited. I loved all of the wines that we tasted and it was truly special to spend a little time with the wine maker exploring his cellar. This is a family owned estate and each wine is hand crafted. They make small quantities.........that were simply too large for the owner's own consumption........hence daughter Shan deciding to start selling some of the stock! Thank you for sharing Shan! Your family wines are great. We had a drive through the estate - and saw the area for picnicking. I cannot wait to return in summer and to spend a whole afternoon at Oneiric!! Thank you Oneiric Wines for making our visit to your estate so magical. We will be back!

A few months ago we spent a weekend in the Elgin area and stumbled across Oneiric Wine Farm by chance. What an incredible find. Set in the most picturesque valley, the farm, the wine it produces and the family who run it were all beyond expectation. The Pascall family made us feel so at home and we thoroughly enjoyed tasting their remarkable wines. The Cousin Jack is definitely our favourite and they completely changed my view of a chardonnay which prior to tasting theirs, I did not like. A chardonnay fan now - well at least an Oneiric Chardonnay fan!
I would recommend Oneiric to both the serious wine fundies and anyone wishing to spend a wonderful few hours tasting exceptional wines in a magical setting.

The views alone are worth the drive, and the Oneiric wines deserve their accolades. In particular the merlot-base rose, in its stylish bottle complete with ground glass top - useful for table water later. Elgin wines aren't cheap (though they're not bank breaking either) but they are elegant and refined. Shan, the owner's daughter, presented the wines with a quiet confidence and, like the wines, a lack of pretension matched by a great enthusiasm for this beautiful place.
Tasting room is similarly minimalist, farm chic, open plan with rough bricks, scrubbed deal tables and a soaring sense of light and space. Well worth visiting.

Our Wine Group spent a couple of delightful hours on this farm - it is tucked away between mountains, hills, valleys and dams and the surroundings are charming.
Our hostess, Shan Pascall, went out of her way to accommodate all our requests.
We were seated in the Cellar Room where we tasted their latest OH range wines - what a pleasure. The buffet lunch provided was excellent and varied and reasonably priced.
All in all - a day to remember.
Thank you Oneiric.

On arrival we honestly were not excited about the tasting room but then the owner served us and we were blown away by the wines. It's homely and wholesome. And the wines are one of the best we have ever tasted.

We had a fantastic time at Oneiric last weekend sampling the very best of what the Elgin Valley has to offer. We had initially booked a picnic but due to the gale-force wind we couldn't make the most of the beautiful picnic spot and the owner very kindly allowed us to picnic inside the tasting room. The wines are some of the best we've had in the Western Cape and the owner, Matt, ensured our experience was top notch. We certainly left with a heavier car-boot! Thanks to Shan and Matt for organizing everything. We'll definitely be back - without a doubt!

A day trip to Elgin, one of my most favourite wine valleys, took us to Oneiric Wine Estate. What superb wines we tasted in their scenic wine cellar presented by Carla that shares her passion for wine as much as the passion that shines through the Oneiric wines! Afterwards we headed to a peaceful area setting surrounding water, lilies & green lush vegetation with plenty bird life, sipping on some more wine and nibbling our way through our delights- Oneiric Wines- what dreams are made of!

As part of our wedding weekend we organized a wine tour, with a stop at Oneiric with lunch. The team at Oneiric are incredible. It's a true family run business and everyone are really so special, we felt so welcome by them and the feeling was very warm, the wine tasting was outstanding and the lunch to DIE FOR. We had organized with Shan to have a lunch in their wine cellar. Not only was the food out of this world but the setting was very special in their wine cellar, overlooking the valley. It was a large group of 50 people and everything ran perfectly! We will definitely be back.

We popped into Oneiric and were met by Mark. What an amazing experience ... we had a private tour of the beautiful newly built wine tasting/function room and the cellar. The views are amazing ... such a beautiful spot for a weekend picnic! The wine tasting was awesome .... what a Chardonnay - definitely top on the list for our next visit to the Cape
