The Fort restoration is a story that begins with one man's passion for local history. It didn't take long for Gary to attract his team of dedicated volunteers but this could be a lifetimes work! Best park down the road and walk up to the...More

We recently enjoyed the walk out to the Fort having travelled to Shoreham- by- Sea for a day trip earlier this week and we were not disappointed although it is a bit of a building site at the moment. Information boards describe the site well...More

We went to visit the fort to take part in the Guided Walk, (every other Sunday) and were shown around by Gary who has dedicated his time to bringing this historic site back to life. His enthusiasm was evident as soon as the tour began,...More

Great place to go and see, no matter what age you are. A little bit of work being done on the parking area but still places to park and in this weather the views are splendid.

This site has very little of the actual structure left, rather it is the historical importance attached to it. The best time to visit (and the only reason I gave it a very good rating) is on one of their event days when they bring...More

Fort is partially buried its fairly small but plenty to do surrounding it. The harbour arm and shoreham beach are all good for walking make sure to bring waste bags if you have a dog

Try and go along when the (free!) guided tours are taking place. Gary who showed us around was a fountain of knowledge and will entertain you with the history of the Fort (actually a Redoubt), its historical significance and the plans that the volunteers have...More

Not a lot to see, you have to pay to park. Nice for a walk around the area. Popular with lovers at night ( so I here)!

If you're a Shoreham resident, it's a pleasant place to come for a walk by the beach but while there are some chunky wall remnants here, the fort wouldn't really warrant a lengthy detour/special visit. Free entry. Parking charge.More
