About
Distilleria Beccaris was established thanks to a sort of “game of chance”. In fact , in 1951 its founder Elio Beccaris decided to start its own firm but he did not know whether it had to be a distillery, a winery or a vinegar factory. So he made his new born son Carlo decide by putting three slips of paper with the three alternatives in a hat and letting him take one, the ultimate decision should be taken by his innocent and unaware hand and it proved to be the lucky one. Carlo Beccaris now show in his personality the same rare and essential characteristics of seriousness of his firm, handicraft care and passion originating high quality. The production cycle starts at the end of the summer with the selection of the best marcs from the vineyards located in the heart of the region between Langhe and Monferrato. Then come the other phases of production: distillation, ageing, and the packaging of the bottles that every year are put on the market after a carefully controlled process.

Beccaris make a wide range of delicious distilled products, along with many complimentary products in a beautiful tasting center. The tasting wa s fun, and the service excellent. We were not rushed and the service was friendly and portions shared were generous. Stop-in if you have time.

The region of Piemonte is famous for its red wines, but did you know they also make some excellent grappa? If you want to know more about the way grappa is made, you can visit Beccaris. We got a tour of the grappa distillery, but I couldn't always understand what our guide was saying, because of the noise produced by the installations. Our guide made up for that during the grappa tasting. She had so many different grappa's and liquors to offer us, that is was nearly impossible to try them all. Really impressed by the variety offered. The shop also offers a wide range of quality products, from beauty products till chocolates. If you're looking for a tasty souvenir, this is the place to be.
Good to know: Beccaris is building some new facilities, so in the future visitors will have an even better experience.

This is a really nice distillery. The tasting was very well done and their products are great, especially their old barrel aged grappa. The building itself is impressive.

We had a wonderfully informative tour and tasting. The make many different grappas and fruit or nut extracted alcoholic beverages. Also delicious grappa-soaked cherries, apricots, and chocolates. We like their "Strave" 1997 grappa best; if a little too strong, add up to 20% water. Unfortunately, they don't have a California distributor. You can get a wine shop in Alba to send to you.

Not to my taste but if you like Grappa, this is the place to visit. A tour of the distillery is on offer, or you may prefer to visit the outlet shop. I never knew there were so many different flavours of Grappa & it was of interest to learn how the product is made.

It is a family distelleria from father to son for the 4 generation.
A part of the production is for " little quantity " of grappa of al kind in a " closen" destillation, the other is a full continue proces for bigger amounts.
The generate there own electricity by using the restproducts.
It s a kind of eco-distellery
They have there own grappa, or they also produce for other clients .
After the visit, you have a large degustation of all the products .
The visits are also given in english by a nice person!
They are building an hotel at the oversidr of the street were there will be a kind of museum, taste room and etc !
Good luck!

A charming winery with a wide variety of products to buy in their shop. Our group of eight visited recently during a day of wine tasting in the Piedmont area. This site had a shop with a wide variety of products available in addition to wine and grappa. The owners were very personable and spoke enough English that we had no communication problems

We visited Beccaris one hot afternoon and were pleasantly surprised with the wide range of beverages that were locally produced and the quality. They produce grappa, lemoncello, sambuca, and many flavoured liquors which were enjoyed by all.

We stopped by, unannounced, on a Tuesday morning, and were welcomed with genuine warmth. We were given a very informative introduction to grappa, the distillery, and the broader region. We had our children with us, 4 and 13yrs old, and they were also catered for and made to feel very welcome. This was a wonderful experience!
