Stopped by here on our recent trip and was told they are not doing the pony rides anymore. Not sure if that was just that day or forever......

Our children loved their mini trek. Very friendly staff and flexible on timings meant we had plenty of fun here and returned for a second visit during our week. Thank you

Both children really enjoyed their horse riding experience. Our 6 year old was able to go on the 30min (£10) ride and he had a great time. He even managed to see 2 deer while he was out. Our soon to be 11 year old was able to go on the 2hr ride (£35) across fields and the beautiful beach. I was really impressed with the whole set up and felt very comfortable letting them go off themselves (as i am very allergic to horses). So if you’re looking for something to do i would defiantly do it again and cafe provided a lovely coffee and scone. Thank you to everyone and we will see you soon

Sweet-natured ponies, fantastic scenery and super friendly staff. From the moment of phone booking to the moment of dismounting they were professional and accommodating, and before going out on the fields they made sure everyone felt confident and comfortable on their ponies.

The ride takes place among barley fields, grassy meadows and the beautiful beach of Machir Bay.
On the two-hour trek we saw a roe deer, rabbits, hares and a dozen of different birds.
The leaders are fun and full of interesting stories about Islay.

Definitely, one of the best experiences I had while in Islay. I highly recommend it!

We visit Islay once or twice a year and Rockside Farm is always on the itinerary. We have two children aged 7 and 9 and they love the whole experience. Great value for money, very competent staff and guides. It's a must for any family, and once you've been, you'll keep going back. Thanks again everyone for such an enjoyable experience.

My friend and her little girl (aged 10) spent a very happy afternoon pony-trekking at Rockside Farm.

The staff were careful, attentive and clearly well-trained. The ponies were well looked after and very well-behaved. The route to and from and along the beach was perfect for a gentle trek. Despite rather 'Hebridean' weather they both thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

All-in-all two happy pony-trekkers and a great attraction.

Daughter, son and wife took this excellent 2 hr pony trek and loved it. The beach was a highlight. Given they were more experienced riders than many, they would have liked the chance to have trotted or cantered - not beyond the ability of most novice riders.
