Spent the day at Cayo Jutias during our time in Vinales. Absolutely beautiful Caribbean beach with deck chairs and umbrellas you can rent. Much quieter than Cayo Levisa. Beware of mosquitoes at both ends of the beach; better simply staying in the main section.

The trip from Vinales took 1.5 hours. Considering it's only 45km, you can imagine the condition of the 'road' which is a pot hole ridden track for most of it. So the journey is not comfortable but interesting to view smaller Cuban villages. The beach...More

We went with a taxi colectivo (1950’s truck with no ac) from our house in Viñales (20 cuc for a return ticket). It’s a 2.30 hour ride, but it feels like 4 because the road is in such bad condition that you’re constantly bumping from...More

Ah, I forgot something. The road from Santa Lucia to Cayo Jutias is pancake flat but it is also in very bad condition. It is no more than 14 Km long. In between it is pretty much nothing.

We stayed in: Casa Cusy in santa lucia (see airbnb) Very nice people! Due to the bad road to jutias the few miles to it took an hour or so. Probably they fixed the road last year. Don’t think there is a casa on jutias beach. More
