One happy island, one bad experience

Hard to believe the behavior of the gentlemen putting out the chairs and umbrellas for a fee.

We visited Arashi Beach with our 4 yr old and and 2 yr old today and asked them to call a taxi for us after a great day. After 40 mins of waiting and the gentleman being adamant for us to sit and be quiet, I walked out to the highway and flagged a van down in less than 5 mins. That’s when the confrontation started. Not only did this man physically stop the four of us (including two young girls) from getting into the van I flagged down; he then jumped in his car after another group took the taxi and drove off reckless as hell. He claimed he would have to pay if we didn’t take the taxi he called for us. Guess not as he put my kids in the rear view mirror.

Honestly the most irrational and crazy situation I’ve encountered across 38 countries. So bad the cops came.

Avoid the chair and umbrella guys at Arashi if you can. There are 10 other beaches where you do not have to deal with this kind of craziness.

Favorite Beach
Jun 2021
This is my favorite beach in Aruba. The sand is nice, the water is clear, and it's never so busy that you can't find a spot to put your stuff.

Beautiful beach north of the high rise resorts
Jun 2021 • Couples
Beautiful beach northern part of the island past palm beach hotels with plenty of parking if you drive there. Get there early if you want a palapa otherwise you can get an umbrella from one of the stands. Friendly workers will bring you beach chairs for $5 each. Some decent snorkeling opportunities as well with a large sandy beach area easy to walk or wade around in.

They also have a beach shack with food and drinks and if you pay for a beach chair you get access to their bathroom and wifi.

Great beach for snorkeling.

We had fun a this beach. We paid $25 for two beach chairs and an umbrella rental. They placed it in a spot right up front. The snorkeling was great and the little restaurant and bar were yummy.

Best beach in Aruba
Jun 2021 • Family
My favorite beach in Aruba! Had the best water and just calm and relaxing. So warm! People there to rent chairs and umbrellas from. Not to expensive.

Great family beach
Jun 2021 • Family
Great beach. Not crowded. Water was perfect for small children. You could go way out and still be just chest deep. The California Lighthouse is right behind you. The beach restaurant there is pretty good and reasonably priced.

Simply Amazing!
Jun 2021 • Family
This was hands down, no question, my favorite spot on the island. The sand is gorgeous and the water crystal clear. I loved all of beautiful sea coral that washed up. It is perfect for swimming and never did get very crowded. The Arashi Beach Shack was a nice place to get lunch as well. It is very close to the lighthouse, so be sure to take a quick drive there for an up close view as well as a higher view of the water.

I decided if I come back to Aruba, Arashi Beach will be where I spend the majority of my beach time. Don’t miss it!!

Great Beach Day
Apr 2021
We come to Arashi every time we visit Aruba. It is a beautiful beach with amenities. We rented a couple chairs and an umbrella for $30 - Look for Hilton on the right side when you get there, he also offered free wifi and waters for the day. There is a snack shack with drinks and a bathroom available. This visit it was much less crowded but still busy. Bring a float or snorkel/mask and enjoy the day.

The most stunning beach on the island - not too many people either
Mar 2021
We have been to all the beaches of the island - and this was definitely the prettiest. Great for sitting/laying down with a book in your hand, occasionally splash into the water and enjoy the island’s breeze. There is also a cute bar/shack at the end of the beach, if you got thirsty that’s sorted.

We didn’t stop at the official parking lot, but a bit after that on an off-path. It’s still part of the beach and you can walk there, it’s a bit more quiet and you can safely park your car there too
