We recently visited Waverley Hills Organic Wine Farm, a scenic and sustainably farmed vineyard located in the countryside. Our host Stacy warmly welcomed us and shared insights into their organic and low-impact practices.

The estate wines truly reflected the terroir, with standout Chardonnay, SMV and Grenache Rosé. Stacy also discussed their care for the land.

We left appreciating Waverley Hills' stewardship of the farm. Stacy showed us why this hidden gem is worth returning to for anyone interested in wine and sustainability.

Whether you're considering a picnic at Waverley Hills for a romantic couple's date or for quality family time, you won't go wrong by making a booking. The setting is beautiful: we could decide in which nook in their leafy garden to settle for our time there.
Our picnic hampers contained a smorgasbord of delicious, high-quality bites. Nadia took great care when she put together the menu – not your typical bread and spread fare that you often have to pay an arm and a leg for. Our party of nine had mouth-watering quiches, wraps, and salad – and yes, bread, cheese and pates – aplenty to choose from. I especially enjoyed the Asian flavours of my vegetarian spring rolls. Nadia also didn't skimp when it came to the kiddies' picnic: she packed a variety of delectable, healthy treats for them to nibble on between play-time on the jungle gym and socialising with the new friend they made there. We had juice and water in our hampers, and the restaurant was nearby when we wanted to order coffee to enjoy with our dark chocolate brownies.

We came for a family lunch as we were staying nearby. I also did a wine tasting. The wines were all good and I bought a few bottles. The restaurant is nicely laid out with great views. All the food was good and I had the salmon, which was excellent - perfectly cooked. Crème brûlée also excellent. Highly recommended

Absolutely fantastic restaurant in a beautiful setting. Every dish we ordered was world class. Tried 3 of the wines, all suburb and very cost effective. Attentive service.

We came to this establishment o recommendation from a very good friend. It was a terrible experience. After almost 2 hours we still had not received our food. Our waitress had not once come to check up on us. It was awful and I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you are willing to wait 2 to 3 hours for your food

What a gem of a place beautifully situated up against a mountain and love that they farm organically! Did the winetasting and was blown away by the quality of their organic wine and particularly enjoyed the fynbos nuances. We stayed for lunch which was lovely and also enjoyed a walk through their beautifully maintained garden. Enjoyed a Ceres lager for the first time - slightly fruity and easy drinking. Can highly recommend the cheesy rice ball starter and the babotie springroll starter. We shared a pizza for our main which was also nice and sustantial.

What an absolute pleasure to visit this 100% organic winery on the road between Ceres and Tulbagh.

The tasting room is nicely laid out and has an adjoining restaurant which boasts a beautiful view and a warm and inviting fireplace (Chilly day when we visited)

Our tasting was passionately and professionally conducted by Maryke. We were lucky enough to sample most of the delicious wines. The terrior imparts unique characteristics in the wines so expect to be surprised and delighted.

My favorites:-
SMV 2013
CW Reserve Shiraz 2015
Chardonnay 2017

All three of the wine drinkers in our group left with take home purchases.

A return visit will definitely be scheduled to enjoy the restaurant and more of the memorable wines.

While meandering from Ceres, we came across this lovely wine farm, and as any good Capetonian, we stopped for a bit of Wine Tasting.

I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I was very taken by their organic wines.

Big spacious wine tasting room with a huge fireplace.

Wheel chair friendly.

Such a beautiful setting.

We had the small plates menu with a bottle of superb Shiraz. The food was amazing. We enjoyed succulent ribs, prawns in a divine sauce, smoked salmon, deep fried Camembert, hummus and wonderful farm bread. Everything was to a very high standard. Our waitress was wonderful. The whole experience was comfortable and relaxed.
