This is a wonderful place to spend some time watching boats go through the locks. The people working the locks were very will to explain what was going on. Take a picnic and spend the afternoon

What a beautiful place. The history preserved with the locks, lake, and buildings is quite nice. It's is an awesome place to go camping and fishing. It's amazing to see the way people were able to build the canals through rock.

It is amazing that locks from 1830 are still in operation. Yes, they have been maintained and timbers replaced, but the structure is all still there, lifting and lowering watercraft day in, day out. They open and close by hand, and everyone we saw was...More

By canoe or motorboat or a water tour it is neat to go through at least some of the locks. You regularly pay by the foot but I just read that most are free this year. We will definately be doing it more this year.

From Highway 401 take exit 619 (Montreal Street) north. Go less than 1 km. and turn right on Kingston Mills Road. It is approx. a 10 minute drive from Hwy 401.
