The Rooms is a place for all of us: for those who live here and those who want to experience it fully. Part sanctuary, part showcase, part classroom and part playground, it’s both a destination and a journey. This is a gathering place, a creative space and a cultural centre as distinct and unique as Newfoundland and Labrador. It is our place to come together, to create meaningful and memorable experiences. It is our place to share the best of who we are.

It was very special having relatives of WW1 troops at the museum telling us about their family members involvement and personal stories. There was also a fabulous film about the Blue Putties. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Rooms.

The World War I exhibit is one of the best installations of the contributions and heart-breaking costs of war. Intimate connections to Newfoundland that I never knew....The Rooms is a must-see when visiting St. John's. Very affordable and amazing history and art collections.

The restaraunt at The Rooms has a fantastic panoramic view of the downtown and harbour of St John’s. If the food was bad (and it isn’t), the view would be worth visiting alone. I have had lunch there a few times (usually a couple of...More

Go for the views over beautiful StJohns. Skip the overpriced restaurant with the unmindful service and overpriced food.

It is more of an eclectic museum display wrapped in an art museum ( more art than museum) but it was a good way to start a tour of Newfoundland. WW1 portion and cod display were our favorite.

I agree with everyone here. I'm one of those visitors who tends to read every panel and I think we went through the museum in less than three hours, including a dessert stop at the café.
