When the Legislature and the Empress were being built, this building was already old! This old cabin takes us back to the fur trade days. Located east of the museum and adjacent Thunderbird Park, it's not like it's out of your way.

This historic house is nicely set in behind the Thunderbird park. So this makes it an ideal place for a picnic or just a casual stroll through the gardens, it is part of the BC Museum.

Just a small little peace of history to be appreciated in an out of the way spot. I do believe there still might be a llecture that still takes place inside telling the details and history about the park and building.

This is a nice historical house located in the heart of the inner harbour of Victoria. A quick stop as part of a larger tour of downtown Victoria.

We have missed this on other visits to the museum and were delighted to see that it would be decked out for the Christmas season! A visitor even sat and played the piano - magical visit!

This is a simple wood frame house and is apparently the oldest house in BC still standing in its original position. It is musty dark and gloomy inside and has a rather oppressive atmosphere. It was built by Dr. John Sebastian Helmcken in 1852. He was...More
