Vancouver's nerdiest restaurant! Like a sports bar for geeks, we stock a wide range of board and card games to play, play sci-fi on our big TV round the clock, and are host to an extensive array of fantasy memorabilia. Come on down for our delicious pub fare, sample our tasty BC microbrews, try our unique cocktails and random d20 shots, or prostrate yourself at our giant Cthulhu shrine.

Fun drinks and good environment. Selin made our night! We had lots of fun with the dice. And food was good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Food was excellent, definitely try their fried pickles! The drink we ordered ( Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster) was fun and interactive with the restaurant. Definitely want to go back once everyone is allowed outside again! I also loved the gumball machine full of 20 sided dice for $1. It entertained us while we waited for food. And there is much to ogle at on the walls.

Our grand kids turned us on to this place - it's roomy, lots of interesting games available to play, delicious comfort food, casual environment, excellent service, and according to my family, good beer and drinks. Both locations are very good and a little different, visit both.

I arrived at 4pm as I already know is a busy place, special at evening. After 3:00 hours at the place the staff came to us saying that we should leave in 20 min. Exactly!! My friends and I were playing a game, drinking beers, and we were invited to leave because apparently the place has a 3 hours limit. Never heard about that, and I go often to Storm Crow. I had to finish my beer fast, did not order my food and felt really uncomfortable. They kicked us from the place!! That is unacceptable!! I work at Customer Service, and I know that is not the way you treat those who like your place, because they will never come back. If its a new rule/regulation, we should have known BEFORE sitting.

Before our night out at the comedy club nearby we eyed the Storm Crow because of the inviting atmosphere we viewed through the window. We weren't disappointed!! The staff was great and the space was eclectic. There were board games, posters to view, models and plenty of sci-fi and medieval decor to view. But nothing compares to the food. DELICIOUS!! And the Dungeon burger is ordered by the rolling of a 20 sided die. If you're game, you can let the die decide what your burger consists of, or you can cheat. I chose to eat what the die had in store for me, and I was not disappointed.

We had a really enjoyable meet-up here for a fairly large group. The staff were friendly and accommodating both in the service and how they handled the separate mini-groups for the bill later. The food was surprisingly good and nobody was left waiting long. The atmosphere was really good too - well worth a return visit

Only reason we went to this place was because of a book of 50 bars you absolutely must visit, so we visited. It was fun and food was surprisingly tasty and very reasonable. Fun way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon.

Went to this location after a mishap at their sister location (Storm Crow Alehouse) that resulted in us transferring our reservation to this one. We were told by the Alehouse that we'd have a table held here, at the Tavern, and when we arrived, this was true. We were given a table instantly upon arrival.

Our server was extremely friendly and the service was quick, especially considering how busy the kitchen and bar appeared to be. Everyone enjoyed their food, and the only issue was that one item we ordered was forgotten, but this was quickly rectified at no extra cost to us. We are not frequent alcohol drinkers, and I always appreciate the variety of their alcohol free beverages, and the care they put into making them just as flavourful as the "boozy" options.

I would recommend making sure to have a reserved table, as this place gets a wait list that is usually over an hour long. They limit table time to 3 hours, which is plenty of time if you are trying to play a quick game or have simple dinner and drinks.

Overall, wonderful experience and I would for sure return for another meal here. Much preferred over the Storm Crow Alehouse, which is the other location across town. While they have the same menu and drinks, they are for sure NOT the same in terms of service and atmosphere.

The tavern should called The Mended Drum (*); not only is it friendly & welcoming with a great selection of beers (Dark Matter is my favourite) and good food, those who run it are passionate about all things SF, fantasy & gaming. Come with friends / come & meet like minded gamers, nerds, geeks, film buffs, see the artwork & memorabilia, join a game, join one of the regular trivia quizzes, host some D&D, or just have a quiet ale and soak up the atmosphere.
I'd love this as my local pub - shame it's 4,750 miles from home with no handy jump gate.
