Went here for the Vancouver Writers festival and market visits. Lots of cool theatres, and stores. Nice artisan stores. Great restaurants. Beautiful views of the water. The public market is very cool. I'd recommend it as an attraction.
Well worth a visit. Either be brave and walk over the bridge or take a river taxi. They are frequent and cheap. Plenty of food stalls to choose from and a very good fresh food market. Lots of shops selling unusual gifts.
I wanted to go for just a few hours and ended up spending nearly all day here still feeling as if I hadn't seen it all. From bespoke bag and broom makers to blacksmiths to restaurants to the marketplace and gift shops there just isn't...More
Took the aqua bus to Granville Island. The fresh food market was lovely and there were lots of stores selling local arts and crafts. The island also has a brewery and distillery. Keep an eye out for the “houseboats” on one end of the island...More

One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh
wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
