The area
Neighbourhood: Stanley Park
Stanley Park is Vancouver's premier spot to get up close and personal with nature and animals. The grassy expanse offers outdoor teahouses and stunning views, beachfront hideaways and splash parks. It is a typical getaway spot for friends and families, especially as it is home to Vancouver's aquarium, and some of its best equestrian outlets.

    Worth a visit
Well worth a visit when in Vancouver. It only needs a short time but the poles and their history enhance a visit to British Columbia. Nice little gift shop and cafe with picnic tables under nearby trees.

    Great look around
Looking at the Totem poles it’s hard to comprehend how old they actually are. You only need 30 mins to take a good look at them. In front of each one, the notice board tells you all the history of them. They are fascinated to see and probably one of the best collections of totem poles in one area

The Most Popular Sight In Stanley Park
Didn't think I would enjoy seeing the totem poles as much as I did. This part of the park always seems to attract a crowd so please be patient. They have info on each of the poles so you know what you're looking at which makes it so much more interesting. They are colorful, lovely and filled with history.

    Iconic indigenous art
There's a collection of 9 totem poles in this area. Each has a plaque providing details about the pole. Well worth a stop to admire the carvings by indigenous artists and the histories of these poles. They are replicas and replacements of the original totems which are housed in museums for preservation or returned to their places of origin. There's also a Visitor Centre.

    A Special Site to See
Beautiful to see these totem poles in person. They're amazing art and craftsmanship. I appreciated the info plaque for each one and the identifying characters within the poles. I can tell from other posters that the look of the area is quite different depending on the season but still an impressive site regardless. There was parking nearby, a gift shop with wonderful native designs and a restroom in the same area. I wouldn't have wanted to visit Vancouver without seeing these.

This was the most interesting thing to see in Stanley Park. Really enjoyed seeing the totem poles with the small plaques telling you the history of them.

A collection of nine totem poles gathered from all over British Columbia. These are replicas of the ones gathered in the 1880. I did think they were in very good condition.

I really enjoyed seeing these totem poles in the lovely Stanley Park, they are also next to a gift shop which has an excellent range and they also sell snacks and refreshments so is an ideal lunch spot. Nice views across the water too.
