We only knew a little about the history related to Flora MacDonald but enough to make the visit very moving...it’s a very short/easy walk from the outdoor museum (crofters’ cottages etc) which is a must see while in this area, Kilmuir. My husband’s, great, great...?...More

This lady is so embedded in Scottish history as to be a legend. Visiting her grave prompted us to learn more about his troubled period, so we later visited Culloden battlefield and the visitor centre there.

Well kept cemetery with stones dating back to 1600's. Very remote location and windy but well worth stopping in to see. Easy to find and lots of parking

A well kept cemetary just up a small road from the Skye Museum of Island Life. Well worth the detour to see the grave and learn of the history of this truly well travelled lady. Great views too. The toilets just below the Skye Museum...More
