One of the best highlights of any trip to the Yucatan. We did the early access with amigo tours that gave us the chance to reach there by before the crowds swarm in and the day gets hotter. Having a guide to explain really helped....More
Take a site of interest, with ruins and stories to tell. Add 1000 vendors of crappy t-shirt whose only objective is to distract you from your visit, making noise, and ruining the entire experience and visuals. Add also 10.0000 tourists visiting at the same place....More
The Pyramid is beautiful it's one of those seven Wonder in the world but is too bad is become a big tourist trap, a lot of annoying vendor seiling the same stuff all over the place, they should just have people from local making local...More
Such an amazing place, it was amazing to be around such magnificent structures that are still standing despite all the time that has passed.
Interesting to learn the origins of everything that we viewed there.
I have visited chichen itza twice now and both times have been wonderful. I would advise you to stay with your tour guide, as the information they relay is valuable and very interesting. I loved learning about mayan traditions and the purpose of the pyramids.
Chichen Itza is ofcourse a famous ruin. But boy is it crowded. Probably because easy to access. It has fantiastic structures, but unfortunately, you can not climb them. Don't forget to bring water and a hat.
December (when the kids are still in school) is a great time to go if you do not want to wait in any long lines. I advise you go early, so you get a chance to see the park and take pictures when nobody is...More

I would see no reason for children aged 4 years not to be included. They would not comprehend the culture of the Mayan civilization, but they could see the magnitude of their buildings. Groups must stay together for the presentations. If you feel the child is capable of staying with you, without crying or disruption, then this should be acceptable.
