One of the most beautiful here
Jun 2021 • Couples
Beautiful sight see… and nice place to just chill on the white sand, under the beach stationary umbrellas. The ocean surf is a bit too strong for a swim (my taste), but water is crystal clear. It’s unspoiled by hotels and businesses - very natural feel.

Pretty beach
Apr 2021 • Solo
Very pretty public beach. A little crowded by not rowdy. Very pleasant and no seaweed. Definitely somewhere I'll visit again.

Beach playground
Mar 2021 • Family
The kids playground and area near to it was littered with discarded paraphernalia of injecting sort used recreationally and by addicts. That is not good enough. The saving grace is that the water color is appealing to your eyes. Bring in your sunglasses.

Almost excellent but...
Mar 2021 • Couples
I would love to give it a 5 because it is truly breathtaking and beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice as far as the turquoise and different shades of blue in the water. The parking is free, which is always good and appreciated, the two biggest issues were the violent surf which makes going in entertaining for a short period of time but not really fun. We could go out maybe 15 yards and that was it before the undertow carried you out to sea. Along with that, the sand, really very very small pebbles, gets in your trunks and embeds itself in your skin, which is very difficult to remove.

Great beach south of Zona Hoteliera
Jan 2021
Playa Delfines is a long and wide stretch of beautiful white powder sand just south from the hotel zone.
You won't need to come here if you're staying at one of the hotels by the beach north, as this is the same beach stretching for miles.
However, even then I'd recommend doing that to mix up with locals who gather here as this is the public beach and a favorite local spot. On the other hand, for those staying at city ho(s)tels I'd strongly recommend it. You can choose your spot anywhere for free or hire sunbeds and umbrellas for a reasonable fee.

Sandy beach
Feb 2021
Public beach at the Zona Hotelera. Easy to rent equipment to make yourself comfortable at decent prices. Restroom facilities too small for big crowds.

A wide width, a great view & a lovely sign :)
Feb 2020
At pretty far south along the great stretch of sand for several kilometers right alongside Boulevard Kukulcan running through the Hotel Zone of Cancun (about 9 or 10 kilometers in total, I would say, consisting of beaches with various names) is this part of that great stretch where yes quite likely is "the widest" of all those beaches with one reason being the lack of oceanfront high-rises unlike at the other beaches along the stretch (definitely wider than Playa Chacmool near where I stayed at about 8 kilometers to the north which is an area just cluttered with plenty of high-rises right beside that beach). And then yes, there are three "enhanced features" of this beach including one on it & two right above: a number of "straw umbrellas", a "viewing deck" for a great panorama of the "deep-blue" sea & wide sky above (where at the time was some long kite flying in the air), and a nice-sized & colorful 'Cancun' sign (for a pretty good photo-op with the sea in the background). And with no significantly big waves that I could see walking right up to the water's edge, this may be a good beach for a swim (but so it seemed also at Playa Chacmool near my place and only to get pummeled by the waves after entering so that beach not one I would suggest!).

And nearby, which is just across Blvd. Kukulcan and a short few-minute walk to the left after coming up from this beach, is the El Rey "ruin site" (with a nice number of structures on a rectangular ground to walk back & forth between its two ends); and not too close to this beach but to get to easily by just taking a short ride of 5 to 10 minutes on a public bus is the big museum Museo Maya de Cancun (with not too many but a fair number of Mayan artifacts and where there's also just adjacent to the museum building is the small site of San Miguelito which is like a mini-forest with a few number of ruin structures). And also, as for the 'Cancun' sign (as mentioned above), there are also two more of that sign pretty identical to the one above this beach (one which is a "lakeside sign" right beside the big Nichupte Lake on the opposite side of Blvd. Kukulcan and about 6 or 7 kilometers to the north from this beach which is just a little past La Isla Shopping Village; and one at like the "downtown or centro" area of the Hotel Zone which is actually the one I "highly suggest" with also a great outdoor wall mural nearby depicting a "quaint & colorful" scene of the old Cancun or such).

Beautiful
Jan 2021 • Family
Well worth the visit. Especially if your resort doesn't have a nice beach. The view is stunning, and the water beautiful.
