As an American in Cancun for an all-inclusive vacation, I'd wondered about this public beach. This trip, I walked down the sand to this beach. It's suprising to me both the size and available amenities.

This was my first time in Cancun and I went with my family. We have fun in the Playa Delfines, the view was incredible and we take a lot of photos on the big letters of Cancun!

Nice blue water, spacious, not much overcrowded, quiet enough to have siesta in the shadow. Just the only restaurant-bar is a bit pricy. Easy excess by a bus from Zona Hoteliera, free of charge umbrella if you are lucky enough to reserve on time, save...More

I would second taking a bus, it is easy and fast and it only cost you $1. You can also stop a taxi and asked them how much (Cuanto Cuesta ) to playa delfines and negotiate the price. probably $15-$20.
