I wish I could remember our tour guide name.. The trip was amazing, the weather was amazing. Felt very safe on all times and took off at 60 miles an hour. Towards los arcos it was epic. Thank you for the good time I apologize for not remembering your name. Next time we come, we will race you..

Had guide Ever who was great. You meet at a marina side location and do the standard paperwork and briefing. Then you take a slow tow cruise out to the main channel where you get un hooked and are able to drive your jet ski. You have a 30 minute or so fast blast across the bay to The Arches National Park where you stop briefly for pics and can get in the water. Large rock formations with lots of birds. No snorkeling. Then you blast back to the dock. We had lots of fun zooming on the jet skis. They are very powerful and fast. If high speeds and open ocean with lots of bumping and pounding aren't for you then this is not your activity. You really need to keep up with the group so just putting along granny style really isn't an option and slow speeds actually can make the pounding worse and reduce steering. Not for the old or infirmed esp anybody with neck or back problems that could be exacerbated by the ride. Ever found whales for us and we were about as close to them as we have ever been.

On a recent Spring Break trip to Puerto Vallarta, my wife and I decided to go on a snorkeling adventure excursion with Eco Explorers out to the small chain of islands known as the Marietas. We'd heard so many good things about this outfitter (and the experiences out at Marietas) and we were eager to see it for ourselves. We knew we were not 100% guaranteed to get a spot at Hidden Beach (they only allow so many folks in each day), but we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best!

Our guide (Rodrigo) and boat captain (Martin) readied things aboard the smallish vessel and the eight of us climbed aboard and suited up in the required life vests. On our cruise out of the boat dock and through the port, Rodrigo shared some stories about the area, how the bay and islands were formed and what we'd expect to see once there. The waters were fairly choppy, but our boat handled the waves with ease and no one appeared to be seasick the entire trip out and back!

The weather was beautiful, tunes were cranking and we hustled n out to see if we'd get a coveted spot on the Hidden Beach. Arriving at the boat station where the rangers awaited, we were happily informed that we'd made the cut and would be swimming out to the beach! We donned helmets and jumped overboard for the 100 yard swim through the only narrow tunnel available to make your way to this secret paradise! The current made for a challenging swim (both in and out), but once inside the open views and quietness of the area made the efforts well worth it!

With only about 20 minutes to enjoy ourselves there, our guide Rodrigo showed us around the space and then gave us some time to wander on our own. Upon exiting the tunnel back out into open waters, we noticed the many birds nesting just on the cliffs above us...blue-footed boobies! Apparently there are only a few places on the planet where these birds exist and here were tons of them! Exhilarating to have this direct encounter.

We piled back into the boat to tour some of the other nearby islands in the chain, then we stopped at a calmer spot for a snorkeling adventure. Rodrigo was great with all the folks not terribly familiar with the ins-n-outs of snorkeling (my wife and I are pretty seasoned and brought our own gear), but in no time everyone was in the water and exploring the reef for fish and other marine wildlife. Rodrigo swam about with large flippers and a life preserver, making all of us feel safe and comfortable should anything have happened. After our explorations and sea life viewing, we once again piled back into the boat for a light (sandwich) lunch they provided plus clean water for hydration.

Fully satisfied, we headed back to port with fresh tunes blaring and an ever-watchful eye out for dolphins and whales. We did spot a few of each on the way back (as well as a slight diversion for a sea turtle hovering at the surface), but never got super-close.

Both my wife and I were extremely satisfied with the day and for how well we were taken care of. I would not hesitate for a second to both recommend Eco Explorers to others or even take them out again for another excursion in the future.

Amazing experience!
We are in our 60s and the swim to the beach was fine. The crew were very mindful of our safety at all times and providing the best experience possible. Both guides provided excellent info on the area, we got to snorkel into a cave like area and it was awesome, again crew making it very safe.
On the return the captain found spotted dolphins and 3 whales and took ample to time for us to see them.
Cant say enough about the guides, some stellar examples.
Seasick passenger was assisted to be able to participate not just left of the boat.
Water was chilly and one of the staff members let me use his wet suit top.
I left my water bottle in the cooler and Bernice brought it to the ship on her way home.
Someone was swimming slow and the crew assisted them with a ring buoy.

Team we worked with was Martin, Berenice, Rodrigo. Amazing really!!

Notes:
- If you have any inclination to get sea sick the ride out might be a little wavy, bring motion sickness meds or put on a patch.
- Weather on the water is always cooler in the morning, dress appropriately and if you get cold bring something to wrap up with on the way back.
- Sandwich and water are supplied, otherwise bring small snacks.
- Snorkeling equip was good, no mask leaks, required to keep you life jacket on.
- Took us approx 10 to 15 min to work our way to the beach and your time there is limited. I would say about 3 to 5 minutes through a rocky area with ample room to maneuver/swim to get to the beach, it was not difficult, just pay attention to the guides.
- we brought pesos for the dock fee and island fee which must be paid before you leave dock.
- we ended around 2pm.
- if your going from a cruise port, uber is the cheapest route.
- dont forget ocean friendly sunscreen.

Best excursion ever!!!!

tip well!!

I'm telling you this is the tour to take.

Amazing trip. Great guide! Saw some beautiful humpback whales. The water was pretty rough so i got in some good jumps on the surf.

Highly recommend going if you haven't gone. 5/5
Overall trip was about 4.5 hours. Once you get to the store at Proa 22 you check in and pay the additional docking fee and other fee - I think these fees are unavoidable regardless of which company you take. They do take card. The boat ride is maybe 45 minutes to an hour from the marina to the Marietas Islands. We saw whales and dolphins on the way to the island. If they are close the Captain will slow or stop the boat for you all to see. You will be wearing life jackets and the Mexico Authority boat will give you helmets to wear when you get to the Marietas. The boat will drop you off 30 yards from the beach - you will have to jump in the water and swim. The current is a bit strong at certain points but we all made it in fine and alive. If you look like you're struggling our tour guide Rodrigo will help you. I found it easier to swim on my back - but once you're in the cove swim forward as to not hit the top of the cavern. We had about 10 people in our group. Depending on the tide your head may come close to the rocks above your head but that's why they give you a helmet or you can push away from it with your hand. Once on the beach you doff your gear and take all the picture you like. Be sure to bring a waterproof case. Rodrigo will take pictures for you as well with your own devices. I like how this company didn't push a photo package at all unlike the other. You have 15 to 20 minutes on the beach. In the meantime other groups will come in and out so the beach is never really empty. They say there are only 116 spots a day. You wear your gear again and swim out - swimming back to the boat was way easier.
You jump back on the boat and they'll take you to the other island. Now you don the fins and snorkel and back in the water. The water is much calmer than trying to get into hidden beach so definitely go in the water and you'll see a bunch of different fish. You explore for a bit then go back on the boat where they'll give you your sandwich and water. That was your last chance to pee in the water before the boat ride back to the marina.
Knowledgeable tour guide - Rodrigo was funny and told us about the boobie birds and other animals. There was a girl who got really sick on the boat and ended up vomiting - so be wary if you get motion sick, I had to pee really bad when we got back so I ran back to their store and used their restroom. Be sure to tip Rodrigo and the Captain

This was a fantastic tour. Our guide Rodrigo was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local ecology. He did a great job explaining what was around us. He was also caring and attentive to one of the passengers who got quite seasick.

The islands were beautiful. On the way out and back, we saw whales and dolphins. The boat captain tried to get us a closer look any time there was a sighting. The hidden beach was a unique experience, though a challenging swim to reach. The snorkeling itself wasn't as good as other places like the Caribbean in terms of visibility or color vibrancy, but we still saw a decent number of fish.
One warning is they only allow you to put on sunscreen at the very beginning of the trip before you leave the marina. Make sure you bring stuff to cover yourself for the boat ride.

This was trip made excellent by the small group (8 of us), the knowledgeable guide, and easy-going, but strict, time frame. Not everyone who goes to Marietas islands can get to the hidden beach because of government rules and tide/weather conditions, but this tour company made it happen effortlessly. Our appointed time limit on the hidden beach of 30 minutes was perfect, and we followed that with a nice snorkel and great sandwiches. We were back at the marina by 1:30, so it didn’t take up the whole day.
