Maguey is a nice big beach only 70 pesos taxi ride to get there from Santa Cruz. Lots of good beach restaurants to choose from, and a roped off area on the lift has very good snorkelling. Nice for a good day trip, and only 12 minutes away.

The taxi from La Crucesita to Maguey is 70 pesos (per February, 2020 prices). We usually like to go out in the morning, book a massage, spend time on the beach and in the water, and have drinks and lunch at El Costeño. But there are a number of restaurants to choose from. The beach and restaurants tend to get busier after 2:00 pm with the tour boat passengers. By that time we are ready to go home. Taxis for the return trip are easy to get.…

Wonderful beach and incredible food. There are several restaurants and small shopping. The bathroom facility is not ideal so be mindful of that.

We came there and had a delicious meal at one of the restaurants with the Shrimp in a pineapple with a cream sauce and covered in cheese. It was totally worth the visit but we didn't' stay to swim in the water, it was a very busy beach. There are lots of people walking around trying to sell you things and braid your hair. They will come into the restaurant where you are eating. That was quite annoying. …
